A question

If I got a BBA in Finance, would it be a good idea to open a comic shop fresh out of college?
(I would have worked in a comic shop while I was in college)

Yes, i would want this to be my permanent occupation.

It would entirely depend whether or not you could make enough to live off. Given that more and more often the internet is peoples' first call for books (and I presume, comics), I'd be hesitant. Do your research.

It's also entirely dependent on where your live and how populated it is, and even if that population wants a comic store. In this economy new business barely make it. Places like CA, NY, and FL are good places from the top of my head but places where I live like RI/MA it is really slow and not really pushing back into the economy by self owned businesses.

As Miley said, location is key.

It says he lives in Texas. It all really depends where in Texas. I know some places are terrible in Texas and some places are better for buisness. I suggest leaving for NY/CA and doing that.

Yeah. Unless your community at large wants a shop, it's best to just find somewhere else to go/something else to do.

Right now with the economy with the way it is I would say no. Gas prices have cut peoples entertainment budgets greatly. Also unless you have a stockpile of back issues of the classics I'd say their isn't much of a market because you can get alot of stuff at Walden Books and Wal Mart.

There are way too many things that go into opening a business than just a degree. You are 11/12, so I have no idea why you are even discussing this with yourself. Your career doesn't become relevant to you until you hit high school.
