European History

Has anyone taken the AP test for this? I'm taking it next week and I want to know what to watch out for. I'm also taking the AP test for English Comprehension or something. So if you guys have tajen either of those, help :s

Not sure how different America is from Aus, but if there's one thing I learned from Eng, it's not using overly complicated words when writing essays unless you're really good at them. You just look idiotic when you use words beyond your league, esp if you weren't strong at essay-writing in the first place.

My history's terribad, so I know nothing about it.

Well for AP Euro, the test contains 3 essays I have to write and 90 multiple choice.
=[

and Im not worried about the English.

I got a 5 on mine. Read the cliffnotes book and know most of it and it's an easy 5. This book:

is really good too I heard.

**** AP Euro. I'm taking US History instead, just because I'm a lazy bastard. So much easier.

hopertveyk 05-01-2010 07:49 AM

You have to take a year of US History and World History lol. Euro counts for world plus its an AP.

Im taking AP US next year. GPA is gonna be mad fly.

agrismhig 05-01-2010 08:14 AM

I took AP US, not sure if it has the same format as AP Euro, but my biggest focus was on the document-based question, check out the dates when they were written so you can get a sense of the context of the events that were happening during those times.

AP English for me was meh, I felt my teachers didn't really prepare us too well, so I knew I was gonna get a 3, and I did.

Taking any math/science AP's?

kanchouska 05-01-2010 08:20 AM

Yeah the DBQ's are my main worry. I can write a great essay ezpz.

Not this year. Taking AP Enviormental Science, AP US History, AP Art, and maybeee AP Physics next year.

Wdlglivi 05-01-2010 08:26 AM

Yeah, for DBQ's just try to analyze any details you can find, i.e. a serious sounding article might be from a source that is lampooning the events that were currently occurring. I don't like that, since you'd have to divide time between reading, remembering, analyzing, then writing the thing :/

AP Physics was given to us on my sophomore year, the teacher pretty much said "I'm going to teach you enough to get a 3, study on your own if you want higher" (got a 3)

If possible, try to have a year with just AP classes, having a 5.0 on a progress report looks awesome :)

One way we blew off steam afterwards was using those bar code labels they give and sticking them on people. :P

Good luck with the tests!

Thanks for the tips!

I may just take all AP's next year haha. I dont think I can cause I still need to take Algebra 2 and they dont have an AP for that :[
