Default iTunes UK account without credit card?
Does anyone have a link to do this saved? I've got my niece an iPhone for her birthday in a few days and I don't want a 12 year old running around iTunes with access to spending!

I believe if you signup through standard browser it allows you. Done it before.

Just create a new account through iTunes on the computer or she can create the account on the iPad/iPhone/iPod and just leave the credit card information set to "none".

Easiest way on iOS is to open the App Store, select "Install" on a free app then go through the account creation leaving billing info on none.

I don't think we have that loophole on the UK store anymore. I only did a quick check last time though. I'll find out more.

Used to be able to select voucher registering on iPhone et al but not any more. On a PC you can.

Your correct. that option is no longer there.

I remember when I signed up for UK iTunes and my debit card wasn't accepted so I created a bogus USA ID and signed up with the US version of iTunes instead. (FU apple lol).

I do have a US account without credit card as I wanted the TiVo app. Does anyone know if there is any harm in her using a US account?

I don't think so, as if there is no credit card on file then all she can do is download free apps.

Apple might not completely like it as she isn't a US citizen, but legally I can't see them extraditing her for having a false US ID on an iTunes account.

Its not like its using the account to defraud anyone lol.
