Default Worst Facelifts
I am putting together an article for my website called "bad car facelifts" and was looking for any suggestion I am looking for cars that were facelifted and made less attractive (or less individual) than before. I have come up with the following so far but welcome any I have forgotten;

Hyundai Coupe

Fiat Punto

Peugept 107

Citroen Xsara

Fiat Multipla

Thanks

The Multipla is an interesting story. Personally I find it bad, as it was just unattractive afterwards, while the clown like Mk. I at least was found funny, outzstanding or "interesting" by some.

Teh Xsara itself is IMO not particulary good but ok, it was a boring design before and remianed that.

Other things that come to my mind are the Chevrolet/Daewoo Matiz, where every faceliftz/modification IMO just ruined the nice original Giurgiaro lines.

Some older Hyundai Sonata facelifts were pretty bad as well....

hmm
Peugeot 406
Current Mitsu Colt
US Ford Focus
SAAB 9-5
Vauxhall Calibra (how one very very small change can spoil the way a car looks)
outgoing Renault Clio
Peugeot 307

On the flip side some changes are so good they fit seamlessly and make you wonder why the original looked as it did
for example
Peugeot 306
second gen Renault Clio
MkII Vauxhall Astra (from chunky egg crate grill to the contemporary slim grill)
Jaguar XJ6 (XJ40 - X300)

I was thinking about the Pug 406 as well. However, I don't think it qualifies among the worst. The 307 IMO wasn't a bad facelift as such, the big gapping mouth might not be classically attractive (or is a question of taste), however execution did IMO fiot the rest of the body, and it didn't look like an afterthought.

The Colt Ihave to agree, it really didn't fit the Jet fighter nose - however, given how poor the new Mirage looks, suddenly the facelift appears as an attractive solution ;-)

The Calibra grille, though minisculle facelift, did ruin a lot, I agree.

BTW: Does teh 1995 Ford Scorpio qualify as facelift? I mean the center section and platform remained unchanegd, and the bulbous fronmt and rear end really didn't work to well with the 1980ies mid section...

Just put before an after pics.

All I know is the Fiat Multiplica (?) ugly. Had no clue there was another version!

The Hyundai Tiburon four headlight look was ghastly. The Genesis coupe is better with the facelift. It went from Camry dull to ballsy. In person, it's very bold and attractive.

I actually didn't ind the E46, maybe because the original was so so dull that I predicted it nearly two years previously.
Never a fan of the seriously flat nosed BMWs, first E46 and the first gen 1 series always looked like they have a squint to me

Thanks for all the ideas although the Corolla was a new model not just a facelift. Also I think the Saxo was a good facelift....
