Is anyone anywhere disagreeing with that?

The authorities acted slowly because in a climate of anti-muslim sentiment taking care not to enflame that is sensible and reasonable. In this case it slowed down the investigation and thats horrible, but turning this into an anti-muslim story is despicable and typical of that vile newspaper.

The fact that they keep trying to put the responsibility for a small ring of pedophiles onto the entire muslim community is ****ing obscene and proof (as if any was needed) that the Mail are a bunch of racist ****hounds.

It would have been 50 years if they'd been Catholics.

Shouldn't there be equal justice?
Seems like there has been, no? They've been arrested.

Let's not pretend that justice needs to be immediate. People go years without being arrested in every country. Justice is still served.

If the article was correct and authorities had evidence of this going on as far back as 1991, I would argue that there hasn't been.

Except they clealy didn't have evidence that would have allowed them to convict because otherwise they would have done so. Like they just did.

If you read this hate filled peice of **** you'll see it's full of 'it was clear it was muslims, but the PC loving police refused to go on an anti-muslim crusade' bullshit.

Girl A told police that she had been raped and provided DNA evidence from her attacker, however the CPS twice decided not to prosecute him.

The CPS often decide not to prosecute crimes if they believe they will be unable to secure a conviction. Have you ever seen the tiny proportion of rape cases that actually lead to conviction? They are extremely difficult to prosecute and often come down to 'he said, she said' arguments.

What the Mail has done here is take a fact and add on a layer of bigotry that is completely unconnected to reality, which is utterly typical for them. How the **** they are still allowed to call themselves journalists is beyond me.

So why do you assume this was a result of fear of being called racist? Did the race of the attacker change since 2008 or something? Was Britain really more concerned with PC in 1991 than they are today?

Obviously there are crimes that go unpunished. To claim it's due to allowing minorities to do whatever they want so as not to be called racist is just absurd unless there's some actual evidence that that was the case. Neither of those articles present any evidence as far as I can tell.

I don't actually know if they were or weren't doing it because of that. If you'll notice, I was responding to kentonio's general approval of authorities slow walking enforcement so as not to inflame hostilities and was curious about the basis for that line of thinking.

I certainly do approve of not painting an entire minority as pedophiles just because of the actions of a few criminals.

Also, I'm curious why some emphasis is being place on the ethnicity of the victims.

The allegation is that these men wouldn't treat women in their own community they way they treated the victims.

Actually you were quoting and responding to me there. I was responding to your "if the article is correct" ... the main basis of the ...
post in question was the 1991 date as it was the only source of information I had at the time. However, it seems that date was in error as I can find no independent confirmation of that bit of information. You seemed I refuse to be held hostage by your assumptions.

I would however be interested in the results of the IPCC investigation of Greater Manchester Police currently going on concerning its failures in this case.

If crimes are commited then prosecute them, but the Daily Mail's wet dream of blaming the muslim community in general for the crimes of a few of its members is revolting.

I don't care for who wrote it, With Melanie Phillips, you should.

Any Western institution that endorses sharia-compliant products therefore effectively endorses the extremist ideology behind it of conquering the west for Islam, whether it knows it or not.

Yeah, except waiting in this case appears to have allowed many more crimes to be committed.

edit: rereading the article it's not clear that there was actually any delay in prosecution, and I wouldn't put it past them to have thrown the implication in there without any basis

Jesus, when will we stop being sensitive about people's so caled "culture" when the acts that are accepted under these "cultures" are despicable and completely against the nature of modern society.

And by "culture" I am not being specific. Catholics too and other such anachronistic belief systems.
