Default Boston Bruins Goaltender Releases Statement Explaining Absence From Obama Meeting
Boston Bruins Goaltender Releases Statement Explaining Absence From Obama Meeting

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 01/23/2012 19:40 -0500

While his colleagues from the Boston Bruins were visitng the White House earlier today, goaltender Tim Thomas was absent. Here is his personal explanation for why he did what he did. We can only hope more role-models follow in his footsteps.

Thomas statement on White House absence (via the NHL)

"I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People.

This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government.

Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL.

This is the only public statement I will be making on this topic. TT"

This is a great way to break the ice with a noob on these issues,
I will be using this with some family and friends when they start
talking hockey.

The US is turning into a police state and other Western countries
are following, the Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas is a hero and leader, etc.

I am going to print this out and have it handy.

See his FaceBook page, has support.

A team spokesman said in an email statement that Thomas opted not to attend the event. Thomas later posted a statement on his Facebook page saying,

"I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People. This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government. The veteran goaltender helped lead the Bruins to their sixth Stanley Cup and was named the MVP of last year's playoffs. Thomas was among the players that Obama singled out for praise during a ceremony honoring the club in the East Room of the White House.

WASHINGTON -- Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas declined to attend the White House ceremony with President Barack Obama honoring the team for its 2011 Stanley Cup Championship.

"I know you're all wicked happy to be here," President Obama greeted the Bruins.

But not all were there. The MVP was missing as President Obama praised his performance.

Notice the SS on his helmet, lol , I love this guys helmet.
I believe the SS markings represent lightning, that is what
they represented on the old silver coinage. My avatar has the
Eagle standing on lightning, the bolt is not the same as other
SS bolts. Nothing on his helmet is an accident. I can't make
out what his Eagle is standing on, but notice the Masonic
corruptions from the FRN are totally absent.

This song is a viper as allegory to something much bigger and related,
Lady Liberty and the Eagle that represent the same things.

Don't Tread On Me is the sixth song on the album Metallica (The Black Album). Lyrics: don't tread on Me. said Don't tread on Me. Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail once you provoke her, rattling of her tail never begins it, never, but once engaged... never surrenders, showing the fangs of rage said don't tread on me so be it threaten no more to secure peace is to prepare for war so be it settle the score touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore... don't tread on me love it or leave it, she with the deadly bite quick is the blue tongue, forked as a lightning strike shining with brightness, always on surveillance the eyes they never close, emblem of vigilance ooh, No, No, No. said don't tread on me so be it threaten no more to secure peace is to prepare for war so be it settle the score touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore... don't tread on me so be it threaten no more to secure peace is to prepare for war liberty or death, what we so proudly hail once you provoke her, rattling of her tail so be it threaten no more to secure peace is to prepare for war so be it settle the score touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore... don't tread on me

In the Bruins’ 2011-12 media guide, Thomas, a Republican, cited conservative TV pundit Glenn Beck as the person he’d most like to have dinner with. http://www.vancouversun.com/Bruins+T...026/story.html

I was going to post this story last night when I first saw it on ESPN.

The spin they put on his stance is sickening. Tearing Tim a new asshole...

He's got serious balls...

I really wish him the best.

I started a thread on this topic on another forum praising Tim for standing up for what he believes in.

I'm now a radical right wing extremist. LOL

Can't argue the facts so resort to name calling. Typical. Sad.

I'm from Boston and I've listened to this guys quotes for years. He has insinuated that he is a Glenn Beck type neocon. Maybe has changed over the past year or so, but I doubt it.

Thomas said yesterday on his Facebook page, “I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People...

Tim Thomas is an American — indeed, the only U.S. citizen on the Bruins’ Stanley Cup championship team.

So the Boston Bruins were invited to meet Obama in the white house. Tim Turner, goalie, declined. The link below will take you to a page that is hosting all sorts of mainstream jewspapers commentary, hosted on the Ottawa Citizen page.

However, this one piece got me fired up.

Tim Thomas’s ‘Obama-able’ behaviour skewered by Boston columnists

The 37-year-old goaltender released a statement distancing himself from either political party and simply stated he believes the current U.S. government is broken.

“I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People,” said Thomas in a statement. “This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government.”

The funny thing is that the Hollywood-actress thin statement brought very little to the table beyond tea party rhetoric. Thomas had a golden opportunity to look Obama dead in the eye and engage him in some lively conversation about his beliefs. That is the true democratic way: expressing beliefs, exchanging ideas and engaging in healthy debate over whatever is ailing this wonderful country of ours.

Instead Thomas — an American hero, an Olympian and the epitome of the American success story while building up from meagre beginnings in Flint, Michigan — remained behind at a hotel in Washington, D.C. crafting a Facebook message while his teammates, coaches, managers and team owner answered questions about his absence.
This writer embodies all the usual tactics of minimizing pertinent statements, shifting blame and propogating the LRP.

Tim eloquently tries to remind millions of people that the .gov is destroying the Country, and that the People are supposed to dictate to Government, not the other way around. He shows a certain amount of knowledge on the subject, just based on the fact that he knows the difference between the three branches of government.
That, and his reference to the Founding Fathers and the Constitution, and the fact that the .fed .gov is not adhearing to the principals outlined, shows that he is head and shoulders above the average "citizen" (Blue pill wal-mart jockies) when it comes to what is happening in politics.

This deciever then takes his statement and disarms it by stigmatizing it with the Tea Party movement, as if it is jsut a bunch of bullshit that militia wack-jobs would spout.

He takes this a step futher, and asserts that Obama is actually honorable and worthy of meeting, by explaining how Tim laid waste to a "Golden opportunity". (LOL)

Worst than that, he slaps the "Democratic way" in there, as if Tim has performed some sort of sacrilege by refusing audience with his angel Barack.

I had a chance to sit down with the brainwashing artist, I would tell him a few things:

1) The people didn't vote Barack in; Diebold did.
2) He is no more eligible to hold the presidental office than is Kim Jong Il
3) America is a REPUBLIC, not a DEMOCRACY. The voting process is a democratic process, but the form of Government is a Republican model.

It pisses me off, because Hockey is a big sport, watched by millions. People will listen to Tim in his statement, and so the jewspapers are trumpeting how unpatriotic Tim is for refusing to meet with the "President".

Articles like this serve the purpose of disarming his statements of truth and making them the ravings of an unpatriotic lunatic. It is so very easy for them to sway the pulic, especially when they are all saying the same message through every media channel.

Even the small detail Joe capitalized on, how Tim sat at home and made a facebook post while the rest of his team had to answer questions regardig why he wasn't there.
....brutally efficient at making him sound like some sort of Still-living-with-his-parents loser.
The comments on the Ottawa Citizen page prove how well this approach works.

Another comment was this one by Margery Eagan:

Two words: embarrassing and classless.

That describes Tim Thomas’s hollow refusal to join his Bruins at the White House yesterday to be honoured by President Obama.

The only thing I knew about Thomas until yesterday had to do with phenomenal hockey playing. Here’s what I suspect today: He’s a spoiled brat.
I wanted to post this so that you could all show support for the truth when this comes up in conversation, if it does. This is an obvious concerted effort to smear him, and I'm not a hockey fan, but I am a fan of the truth. What Tim said is the truth.

All these faggots are lefties.

Even the jews are criticizing him.
Kevin Paul DuPont's double standard

I grew up a rabid Boston sports fan, and I still follow my teams from Israel, so I hope you all will forgive me one more slightly off-topic post.

When I wrote my Tim Thomas post on Tuesday night, I was looking in the dark for someone from Boston who skipped out on one of the championship trips to the White House when George W. Bush was in office. My mistake was including Kevin Paul DuPont in the search terms, because DuPont, it goes without saying, was silent about it.

When the Red Sox won the World Series in 2007, principal owner John Henry and then general manager Theo Epstein - both dyed in the wool Democrats - skipped the White House visit with George W. Bush. And, as you might guess, Kevin Paul DuPont did not say a word nor did anyone else at the Uber Leftist Boston Globe (Hat Tip: Malcolm via The Colossus of Rhodey).

JQP started a thread on this here: http://gold-silver.us/forum/showthre...ghlight=thomas

Funny I watched part of the NHL all star draft again they tried hammering him with questions. He just denied answering anything and said tonight we are here to celebrate hockey. He's taking it like a champ.
