Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S II D710 Epic 4G Touch (Sprint) Smartphone. I know Viva as Centennial used to activate CDMA phones and Claro as Verizon. Does anyone know if I can still get this phone to work down here?

Yes you can as long as it is unlocked or can find someone to do it for you.

How old is the phone? I have brought in phones that they'd say they could give me service, but once they got it open, they announced that it was too old.

It may be too new for them to have the unlock codes, but worth a try. Ideally you want a phone that's already unlocked and it's GSM, then all you have to do is pop a Dominican SIM card in and you're golden.
