At the amazon.com Marketplace, the international shipping charge for DVDs is almost double that of CDs. Whereas at amazon.co.uk and amazon.co.jp, it's only the same as the shipping charge for CDs.

Does anybody know why?

$12.29 (vs only $6.89 for CDs) shipping is quite steep for a DVD IMO.
