That's actually a feature I have been noticing on a handful of newer cars lately.

In fact, on my buddy's dad's new X5 we noticed the other day while driving in front of him that the foglights work with the adaptive headlights in much the same way. When the wheel turns left, the left fog will go on, and vis versa.

Actually that's also featured on Proton Wira / old Persona

When the driver indicates the turn signal, the lower light (on the particular side) illuminates as well.
But in this case, the 'cornering' lights are separate from the foglights so each of the lights have their own function.

yeah, its a function on a lot of cars. Sort of to give the driver extra lower light when turning if his main lights are not turning with steering wheel.

That are the cornering lights: As foglights usually have a rather widespread light on contrast to the normal lights which rather illuminate the distance, it makes sense to use the fog light on the side you are turning to. Firsttime I noticed that was on the facelifted E-Class (W211), and yes, most Bravos have this feature as well (standard on all but absolute entry level)

im pretty sure its a standard Fiat feature, my mums Punto had it, but then she crashed it and wrote it off. Now her Ritmo (Aussie for Bravo) has it aswell

I've never come across this on a car. Good idea though, like having a giant indicator lol.

Yeah my dad's old Caddy STS had cornering lamps that were incorporated into the headlight housing that was swept back across the body. And I wanna say that his Passat has them too, in addition to the steering-guided headlamps.

My 2002 Falcon had them too http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

i'm not really a huge fan of this feature becuase it always looks odd like they are driving aroun with a fog light out. it looks especially bad on the S-class which has the cornering lights built into the headlight. i prefer the old caddy's which had the cornering lights built into the side of teh headlight so you could only really see it from one side.

very STRANGE feature on the Fiat Bravo

Over the past few months i have noticed a very strange feature on the Fiat Bravo. The first few times i was convinced that the cars had a wiring fault!

When the indicators on the car are on, the front fog light on the same side lights up. Looks very odd! Anyone else noticed this?
