1. Knowingly conceals on himself or another person unpurchased merchandise of any mercantile establishment while within the mercantile establishment.
Strange law that one then, obviously more localised, we dont worry at the shop I work at

If someone starts hiding goods in their clothes you can bet your life that they're a shoplifter.

I don't think they went far enough. I think the cops should be a little more proactive with things like this. If you LOOK like you might be ready to put something in your pocket, you should be taken down. Sorry if you break your nose, but we can't afford to see Wal Mart possibly lose $40.

I'd say it's more an indication of how much we like a bargain. You're hardly showing off buying an xbox.

If things happened the way the man described, it's seriously messed up. I am usually supportive of police trying to do their job, but only when they properly do their job. You don't go tackle some older guy and bust his face on the floor even if he did intend to steal those.

Strange law that one then, obviously more localised, we dont worry at the shop I work at
That's pretty standard over here in the States as far as I know. Had a buddy that worked a short stint at Wally World and told me that's how it worked here anyway.

It's just plain wrong to assume evil intent without proof - according to that, if you put something into a shopping bag, it could justify an assault by a Police officer.

People don't just put stuff in their clothes. That's abnormal for sure.

Lawsuit comes to mind....i hate pigs
Wow. You come across as a 14 year old pot head. Congrats on that achievement, you deserve an award. How about some shiny bracelets? Bet they would look great on you. Oh, but you probably already earned those a few times I bet.

Quite, I'd say everyone with that sort of attitude has definitely meritted Police attention in the past, for good reason, and will continue to merit it in the future.

Keep posting, Corrupt, I need a good laugh.

Yeah, if someone said they hated me and acted like a jerk towards me all the time, or any group of people for that matter, cop or no cop, don't expect to be loved in return. Ever hear of treat others as you would wish to be treated?

I would have done some shopliftig while the people in the police costumes where presenting the latest clown make up to the walmart customers.

On a serious note, this was unnessecary! Even if he was shoplifting there was no reason at all to throw him down like that (assuming that you dont break your nose like that if no force is being used). I mean what did they expect? The grandpa doing a 100m sprint, jumping over the cashiers, jumping into a car with its engine running and driving off with squeaking tires?

Talking about reacting adequately...
