Which car??
I need to retire my impala, it's starting to become a burden to repair. So I have managed to find two cars which i seem to like for under 15k. Problem is, I just can't decide which!
2007 Audi a4 2.0T Quattro AWD with 66k miles for $14,900 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false or 2006 Dodge Charger R/T RWD (5.7L) with 72k miles for $14,500 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false |
Audi!
Then check out goapr.com for the ECM upgrade and call it a day. |

Oh my god.

Tough call.
That Charger is basically a Mercedes. The Audi will have a nicer interior. 2006 wasn't good interior year for Dodge. Plus where you live, AWD would be a nice addition for the winter months. The Audi might have more minor problems, and be more expensive to repair just because it has a German Luxury badge on it. Automatically means higher repair costs from the dealer and more than likely from approved Audi mechanics. Because of location and interior, I'd get the Audi. |
One thing I have to worry about is the ability to fit in it. Being 6'4 limits the vehicles I can drive greatly.

Audi all the way. |

My vote is for the Audi.
I personally think that a truck should only be an option only if you actually need a truck. If you don't need to haul stuff around most of the time, get a more economical car and rent a truck on days you do need to haul stuff. |

Mercedes suspension. Mercedes transmission. And some more stuff. Almost effectively a cheap Mercedes with a HEMI. Do remember that Mercedes did own Chrysler for a while, so got a lot of Mercedes stuff. 3.0L Diesel was Mercedes. Current Grand Cherokee shares a Mercedes platform. 5-Speeds are Mercedes. Chrysler Crossfire is straight up Mercedes. Plus a lot of the other smaller components that make a vehicle come from a Mercedes parts bin. Chrysler has always had good/bad *cough*Mercedes*cough* relationships with other companies. AMC basically helped make Jeep what it became. Mitsubishi and Chrysler shared a sh/t ton of stuff during the 90's. The current I4 is Dodge, Hyundai, Kia designed of which Mitsubishi uses as well (and in the EvoX). Compass/Patriot share a similar platform for the Mitsu Lancer. Dodge, BMW and GM worked together on that Hybrid transmission. And now Chrysler is owned by FIAT, so is going to get a lot of FIAT technology, components and platforms. |

Mercedes helped them make a lot of not so great stuff while they owned them. Should have bought the Neon SRT4. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/devil1.gif Buy the Audi! So long as you can afford the maintenance! Don't you own like an 06' Impala? |

It's almost at 140k so it's time to retire it. |

I have a 2.0T A4 quattro. Good car. I'm 6'2" and fit in fine, there's room to spare. I've had mine 15 months and the only thing to break was an ignition coil. Cheap part and they've all been replaced under a recall now anyway. Mine get's the quoted economy figures as well, whatever that translates to in miles per US gallon. Quattro is good in the snow, mine was last year, as long as you're tyres arn't bald and shite. Mine is the 220bhp special edition, but also with an ECU remap to about 260bhp and it's pretty good. I think they all remap to the same anyway. Very worthwhile and no point doing anything more.
