Default So, I received an email from Apple....
Your Recent Apple Retail Store Repair

Dear Apple Customer:

On behalf of Apple, we would like to invite you to participate in a follow-up web survey regarding your recent in-store repair experience at the Apple Retail Store.

Your perspective is very important to Apple and the AppleCare team. All information you provide will be treated in accordance with Apple's privacy policy and will be used solely to improve our support programs and product offerings.

What's this about? Yeah, I just sold my 3GS on the 20th, but it was flawless. Formatted twice, and the SIM card was removed.

Maybe the person you sold it to brought it into the store and the serial is still tied to your email account.

They tend to send follow-up emails after you get anything serviced, replaced, or purchase something.

Yeah, it's valid.

Is there any way to unlink my email from the phone serial?

I'm sure I have nothing to worry about anyways, right?[surrender]

PS: ""Apple" "

I think you are supposed to do that before you sell it.

It's linked to my Apple account. Seems like it's no big deal, I just get to see what he does with it

Edit: Still curious on why he "repaired" a phone that was in perfect condition.

Maybe he is de-frauding in some way, getting a refurb, keeping the original...selling both. Who knows.

Huh?

How would he be able to get a refurb and keep the original? It's not like the 3GS is worth much anyways.

Insurance fraud is still able to be done with 3-party cell phone insurance providers.

I know how to do it, working in the business for 2+ years, but I am not saying I did that sort of thing, just I know how it is done.

I was saying that the guy could be trying to do something fraudulent with the phone he bought from you**, in the way of insurance scamming/defrauding.

**You even said nothing is wrong with the phone, so why would he?
