Yeah, people keep going on about how physical media are dying, but I don't see it. Until consumer internet connections become substantially faster people will be buying DVDs/BDs for a long while to come.

The best moving image ever seen? Hardly. Also what else would one watch a Laserdisc on but a TV?
The best moving image ever seen? On TV, definitely it was. [yes]

We had the option to view Laser Disks either from a TV, Computer display or projected on a Silver Screen. The image quality was way better than from a TV broadcast or VCR.

DVD at its best quality only supported 30 minutes of video per side. So for a 2hr movie you'd have to switch the disc a minimum of 4 times. But that was one of the reasons it never caught on.

Better than VHS? Most certainly (it's why I wanted one. )

Better than broadcast TV? Maybe, if your reception was lousy; LD just had a standard PAL/NTSC image.

But not the Losssless audio tracks.

I mean you could, but no player can play them streamed, unless they are ON physical BD media.

I remember the Phillips CD-I, it was a LD player but it had all kinds of extra stuff in it, even a game console. It was out around the same time as that other console with the huge 50+ button controller.

Um, no it wasn't. It used CDs, hence "CD-I".

I believe it was called Jaguar. And yes your right I always thought they were LD but it was just a VCD (video cd player). That is probably why the movies like Top Gun that was out for it were on several discs.

If available I could download a full bluray uncompressed disk in less than an hour.

And? I can download one in 4 hours. What's your point? Your e-peen is bigger?

Doesn't change my statement one bit, it's fact.
