Yeah quite, FFS.

I'd happily pay my £1 to watch each race. I don't know why it costs so much to broadcast.

BBC will lose a HUGE marketshare f1 is racing in the civilised world. and i live in nascrap country. and cannot stand nascrap. f1 for me. all the way, all the time.

The numbers in that article appear to be in favor of dropping Formula 1. I wonder who will be broadcasting it though. I may not be one of the 2 million (domestic?) viewers, I do download the BBC broadcasts from Racing-Underground every time.

Personally speaking I'm glad as I don't watch F1, any idea's what they'll be putting on instead though?

Don't watch F1, but BBC having it means no adverts every 10 mins and decent presenters..

Ashame when things like this happen for the people who do enjoy it.

I hate to say it, but I think it will end up on Sky, but will Bernie REALLY want that? It would cut down his viewers, and therefore advertising opportunities dramatically.

You can say a lt about F1, but boring certainly doesn't apply this year!
Then there's the tens of millions around the world who watch it on services that pay the BBC to use their feeds.
I'd like to see less boring soccer and especially rugby!

If you find F1 boring then that's fine, but it doesn't mean that it is.

It's fine that not eveyone likes F1 but it's only on for a 3-4 hours every other Sunday for the most part, I don't like tennis but we are about to get absolutely bombarded with it over the next two weeks, entire afternoons and evenings of nothing but tennis. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/wacko1.gif

The thing with F1 is once you become a fan and start to appreciate more aspects of the sport, you'll find that F1 is actually bigger then the racing, as funny as that sounds it's the amount of politics and intrigue off circuit that also make it the worlds greatest soup opera too! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

Anyway, lets hope it isn't dropped and the Sunday Times have their wires crossed. F1 belongs on the Beeb and their coverage is totally unmatched.

I have nothing against F1 I just find it boring to watch, the cars are amazing and there's no doubt that the drivers have insane skill, it's just not for me. I nearly have my full motorbike license, I love motorbikes, but I still find MotoGP boring to watch sadly.

I thought the BBC's commentary gets rebroadcasted to a number of different countries around the world, so they must be getting some of that money back each week.

Of course this could just be a bargaining tactic because the only way sky would be able to have it is if they show the main race on Freeview. I can't see anyone else wanting it.

It's been on SKY here for the last decade or so, regardless of where the feed came from - the BBC one is the best so far.

Apparently the viewing figures for the last three races were at a ten year high.

If you want exciting motorbike racing, you're watching the wrong thing with MotoGP. Try the World Superbikes, or British Superbikes. They're much easier to get into, with a lot more riders and a lot more action on track. Some people to watch in both series are the ex-MotoGP guys, such as Carlos Checa, Marco Melandri and Max Biaggi (WSBK), or John Hopkins and Shane Byrne (BSB).

Are you still in the country, or did you move back?

Even better than the Superbikes are MotoGP's support series', 125cc and Moto2 [thumbup]
