Texas Monthly articke
The Alamo Drafthouse website This has already started but I just found out about it so I thought I'd pass on the info for the remaining weeks it's going on. I might go to Pilot Point but I am really going to try and make it up to Archer City for The Last Picture Show. That should be a special night. From Texas Monthly: In the June issue of TEXAS MONTHLY, five experts were asked to get together and argue over the ten greatest Texas movies of all time. (Read the story here.) After a long debate, they settled on a list, which then became the basis of the Alamo Drafthouse’s 2011 Rolling Roadshow. From June 3 to July 1, the Alamo Drafthouse will screen all ten films in unique locations around Texas. It's a show you won't want to miss. For more information on showtimes, tickets, and directions, go to drafthouse.com/texasfilms. The remaining schedule is: June 17 in Fort Worth — Red River, starring John Wayne (1948 Academy Award-nominated Western) June 18 in Pilot Point — Bonnie and Clyde (1967 biographical crime drama) June 19 in Waxahachie — Tender Mercies, starring Robert Duvall, who won an Academy Award for best actor (1983 country music drama) June 24 in Marfa — No Country for Old Men , starring Javier Bardem (2007 crime thriller) June 25 in Marfa — Giant, starring Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean (1956 Western) July 1 in Archer City — The Last Picture Show, starring Cybill Shepherd, Jeff Bridges , Randy Quaid and Cloris Leachman (1971 drama) |
