Default Supercar news *faints*
Shayton Equilibrium

Under the hood of the Equilibrium, we will find a V12 engine that can battle with the best at 1084 bhp and a peak torque of 930 Nm at 5000 rpm. With a total weight of 1200 kilos, the Shayton will deliver a power-to-weight ratio of 1.42 kg/hp. This allows the super car to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 mph. Still not in production but orders can be placed. Price 1,400,000$

Porsche 918 is reality!

Production begins in 2013 and price is $845,000.

I was sure that this thing would stay as prototype. 3 litres per 100km or 78mpg. [rofl]

That Shayton is a pipe dream from Slovenia whose design rips off a the last 10 years of supercar design and now I'm thinking that the Porsche will be underpowered and overpriced by the time it's released in 2013.

And there is no way in hell it's gonna achieve 78MPG on a regular driving cycle. It's electric motors are only good for 16 miles of driving.

I fell in love with the 918 the minute I saw it. Styling is very in line with the Carrera GT motif, and that is perhaps one of my favorite cars in history. I'll have one of each!

It is my understanding that the Porches are also one of the most reliable supercars that require the least maintenance making it even more attractive. Can't imagine taking in my car to get serviced every 6 weeks, would drive me crazy.

Porsches have had problems with some models, but generally they do have the reputation of being one of the few supercars you can jump into and drive the length of Europe and back, confident that you won't have any problems. The other cars have caught up but for a while there 'reliable' and 'super' weeren't terms you'd use for the same car, except the Porsche.
