Default Nasa Researcher Claims to Have Found Alien Lifeform
An astrobiologist working at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center outside Huntsville, Alabama has made an astounding claim. In a recently published journal article, he claims to have discovered a preserved alien life form residing inside a meteor that journeyed through the vast black of space before impact our planet. I guess time will tell

A rock that spent several thousand years sitting on earth...

Someone in another article I read about this today replied with an interesting analogy:

"I've just dropped my glasses in jam. Wow - my glasses have jam on them - that jam must have been part of the manafacturing process of my glasses".

The specific organism he found generally wouldn't be found in abundance in the area, but either way it's being heavily scrutinized by scientists at the moment. I suppose we'll find out soon enough.

reread the article
The meteors were sterilely harvested in the frigid reaches of Antarctica immediately after their observed fall. "I've just dropped my glasses in jam. Wow - my glasses have jam on them - that jam must have been part of the manafacturing process of my glasses". the bacteria they say it is like contains a lot of sulphur and is found in sulphide rich mud in spain (among god knows where else). i'm guessing it isnt found often in the antarctic.

after reading it all it appears that he went way overboard with his claim. yes it is a finding but just that. he has found something in a meteorite and it appears to be bacteria.. that is it, nothing else, and he should have presented his finding accordingly. instead he has sensationalized it to the point of it not being believable. it could very well be evidence of ET and just as well could be terrestrial but it's way to early in the study to make such claims.

he has found something and now they need to figure out just what it is before they go running to the press. at this point it is nothing more than a theory based on preliminary findings..
Bill, my friend, you need to learn to hold your breath whenever science it being discussed.

Do you realize that your entire post is full of assumptions that are criticizing... assuming?

Antarctica used to be connected to the other continents so no it's not impossible for fossilized bacterial life forms to be found there untouched for 1000's of years.

This story has been met with near universal skepticism among scientists. The article was published in the "Journal of Cosmology", an online journal run by a small group of cranks who think that life on Earth originated from outer space. NASA has distanced itself from the paper.

So he works for NASA, yet NASA does not support his findings. Why the hell would he still be working there?

I have a feeling he may not be for very much longer.

The only thing I can imagine is that the author (according to the original DT article), is inviting other professionals in their field to look at his findings. If he's that certain about his claims, he mine as well submit his paper for peer review.

It's been millions and millions of years since Antarctica had a warm climate. Since then, it's been covered in thousands of feet of ice and snow (average depth of 7,000 feet).

So tell me how these fossils magically made their way to the surface?

Nasa has claimed to find alien life form in meteors in the past, and have been proven wrong by the scientific community on more than one occasion, so now they stand neutral on the subject.

Understandable, and to be honest I'd do the exact same thing. Here's hoping if this guy is even half serious, he welcomes everyone in the scientific community to go over his findings with a fine-toothed comb.
