I am quite amazed that Apple decided to deliver a CDMA iPhone even as carriers are starting to roll out LTE. They did this for a single carrier and they're going to deliver a new iPhone in 6 months anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if it had an LTE radio so why not just wait?
Then again, this all works very nicely with Apple's business model of building in upgrade paths. Buy the iPhone 4 for Verizon now and then buy the next one with LTE later. |

Told who? Was there ever any doubt? That is the format that Verizon uses... For example on my DX if I uninstall say NFS2(the game, it came with the phone) or blockbuster....and they release a patch....I cannot patch if they are not on the phone. So you have to "freeze" them so they don't run but still are there and take up space. It is retarded. |

Hahaha was it you? I forget, I've discussed it elsewhere and had disagreements. The lack of bloat truly is awesome...an app or two that I can uninstall I can live with. |

To be honest, I don't think it matters too much, especially since Apple sells their current gen phones all the way up to the day of release of their new ones. I'd actually be surprised if they have the same release schedule for both carriers, as I think there's a possibility that Verizon won't get the iPhone 5 until next year. Just speculation of course but it does make sense. |

The details of Verizon specific devices are yet unreleased, but speculations assume that this device will not have the death grip issue or oil build up issue of the AT and T model. The rest is left in secrecy until the big release date. The talk of Verizon carrying the iPhone has been brewing ever since Apple signed a contract with a Chinese manufacturer last march.

From what I read the verizon network speeds are a bit of a joke . I think overall people still will take slower data for more reliable reception. I'm not really sure why apple made a special CDMA version, it's probably only time before Verizon phase in GSM completely? I don't see VZW going GSM for voice for a loooong time. |

That's was good! [thumbup]
Hopefully this means that the iphone features will come out faster since it's always been held back because AT&Ts service is so crap. eg 3G facetime. With that said, because Verizon are CDMA it's understandable that Apple chose a provider initially that was GSM, as no one else in the modern world uses bloody CDMA any more (plenty of CDMA networks in 3rd world countries). So Verizon are a little backwards themselves too even though CDMA is known for great coverage. |
