Aygo or Yaris?
So my 2002 Corolla hatchback is getting a little long in the tooth, it's due a new clutch anytime and has recently suffered some superficial damage to the front left and rear right hand sides, (last time i take my niece for a driving lesson..[cursing] ) so rather than paying for these things to be fixed we decided it might be a good idea to treat ourselves to something new. [thumbup]
I'm sticking with Toyota as they have some good deals on right now and they've always given excellent after sales service and usually give me a good deal, i also prefer small cars since i do a lot of town driving and don't hit the motorways that often, so something nimble and cheap to run around town is important. So i'm wondering if anybody has any opinions on these two cars? Aygo or Yaris? Yaris or Aygo? Help. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/unsure1.gif Americans feel free to point and laugh. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/wink1.gif |
I've been real satisfied with my Nova, I would consider one of these aswell.

They're quite different.
The Aygo is great, Toyota's only properperly good car. But there are much better cars in the Yaris segment. Not to mention that the size difference between the two is huge. |

the Aygo is a rebadged peugeot
the Yaris is a real Toyota |
Won't even consider a Ford? I keep hearing good things about the 2011 fiesta.

The Aygo, C1 and 107 are all the same platform, its a shared platform between the three and no one manufacturer is the dominant owner.
Anyway, the Yaris is a clearly superior car to the Aygo, if you really must buy the Aygo im certain youll get a better deal from one of the French variants and youll get more kit, if you believe the Toyota is some how better then you're wrong, they are the same. Though the Yaris is overpriced and has some stiff competition these days and its a quite old design compared to the competitors, so i wouldnt look at one unless i got a really good deal and service plan. |
Thanks, ok, so far i've learned:

exactly.
Anyway, i'd have thought the Yaris was a better replacement for a Corrolla. |

To throw in my 2 cents, I love my little Aygo.
When I bought it in 2007 I test drove both it and the (then) new Yaris. While the Yaris was clearly more car with a nicer finish, it felt too big and heavy for the little engine. Not sure what engine choices you can actually get, but I was certainly looking at the smallest to keep costs down, heh. Went for Aygo over the Peugeot 107 / Citroen C1 for: 1) Brand 2) Resell value 3) Looks Plus the guys at Citroen couldn't have been less interested in selling me a car. Peugeot were good, but they were only £500 cheaper, and at the end of the day, Dad pushed me towards Toyota as he had more faith in the brand, and it's certainly done me well for these three years http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/smile1.gif |

* I thought it was going to be 30k pounds? And another vote for the fiesta, except you only want a toyota, and I can't decide between the two apart from 'they are both worse than the fiesta for the same money' |
I think you call DB9 owners and say "Do you want something to do some light shopping or run errands in?"
Why do rich people drive Prius?... to look good, like they care about the environment etc. Well, they could drive one of these instead, with the bonus that everyone still knows they own a 'real' Aston as well. |
