OHP got caught pulling away faster than the limit around parked cars in the middle of the night on a dead road. I believe the last car in the row of parked cars was a police mobile camera?

He then got shafted by the courts when trying to explain himself.

Horse ol' buddy, correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah it was a large white double wheelbase transit van, that was parked badly on a bend after a few cars, to my stupidity I accelerated thinking that It would be better for me to clear the poorly parked van,but to my dismay the police were hiding down a side road pointing the gun at the apex of the bend to catch drivers (so it was a trap) obviously my standard of driving fell below the standards required because of my acceleration (my judgment call) as I saw no spillage of headlights coming from the opposite direction (which would have notified me of vehicles coming) so I just went for it where as the correct plan of action would have been to continue on at the speed limit....

so the old bill bummed me for that, but that wasn't what got me banned it was the copper who submitted the prosecution to the procoratal fiscal that there were children between the ages of 8 and 10 playing hopscotch in the road (at ****ing 1030pm) when there was not....and I mean there was not and as I was the sole driver and there were 2 police officers who co-ob-berated together pushed this lie through the court to secure my conviction.

the copper said to me before I drove, off that's a nice car you have mr ohp im looking for a nice beemer do you wish to sell it, I said no and then he said we'll see.

my lawyer was told to sit down and shut up in court and wasnt even allowed to fight my case, so she re-embursed her fee to me.

then just after I got banned (a week later) I got a driving asbo from the Grampians police telling me that my car would be crushed if I so much as fart in the direction of a Grampians traffic cop

oh yeah, I tried to appeal but I got told to **** off by the courts because in Scotland they dont have to accept an appeal...

so I was in a lose lose situation.

and its taken be some time to bounce back from this too it almost destroyed my career and I almost went to colchester...

so can you now understand Lenny when I jump on your back for what technically should have been a 3 points and 60 quid fine roadside offense, and you swan around like an ******* while I went through hell and back both civvy and military wise, missing out on Christmas with my parents and family whilst you swan to the shops to pick up groceries when you feel like it.

I have no idea how much you drove your car whilst banned, but you made it sound like every day.
I get the impression that everyone thinks I just drove around every day willy nilly and not giving one toss about the ban. I guess people like to think the worst of someone. You're all completely and utterly wrong. Especially for the first 4 months as it was summer I could ride my bike and I didn't touch the car at all other than when I had to see the doctor (as I got very sick) or it was raining, and I really needed to go down to the store. Though of course people here don't acknowledge that, and beaten up the truth like I went up picking up chicks (because as you all know I'm such a player lol), and every day taking it out. A lot of the things I said if you recall my thread were like 2 months before my ban was even in effect, and I was trying to work out how I'd manage myself. I wanted my 6 months over, so I did my best to not drive during that time. If you all think I drove as much as you all think I did, chances are I'd have been busted considering the policing in this state. For some people depending on their location it's either easy or hard. For me where there is a lack of public transport in this area (newly developed housing) which makes things quite hard. Hence why I had to ride 6km to a train station daily for work. I never drove to the station once as it was far too far to risk it!

In retrospect guess perhaps some things are best left unsaid. Ahh FM politics at its finest.

the only time I'd accept that you had no other choice but to drive is if you had a life threatening emergency where you had no option but to drive, and UK law stipulates this but states the vehicle must not be used for the return journey of origin. (that's drink driving and driving whilst banned)

Irnsurance isn't a legal requirement in NZ? Wow...
3rd Party Personal Injury Insurance is compulsory in Aus and NZ... car insurance however is not.

I was banned for 3 months after a speeding incident when I was much younger. I never even hopped in a car during that time.

Not in NZ - well, it is if you want to be pedantic - it's the part of the vehicle resistration fee which is the ACC payment! It's NOT a separate 'insurance' policy.

Was also give a 3 month ban as a kid - was supplied the wrong valve stem seals for the engine and the Cop (AKA b*st*rd) told the judge the engine oil smoke from the exhaust was tyre smoke!

That has happened to me a couple of times.. Is there a "Replay video" button?

IIRC pressing such button has helped me on those occasions.. If that doesn't help, I'm out of ideas [surrender]

Because you suck? [ban]

People driving like selfish impatient cnuts is more a factor than speed itself. Where I live there are dozens of speed cameras and either side of them I see people driving on pavements to avoid traffic lights, overtaking on blind bends and generally risking other road users lives because they're too far up their own asses to care.

Then my father, who has been drivng for 42 years, never had an accident and is one of the most considerate/carefull drivers I know gets a ticket for 33mph in a 30 zone from a static speed camera at the bottom of a hill.

Not just you, does the same for me too. [cursing]

EDIT:
Found it on Youtube. That Evanescence song is called My Immortal and is a brilliant, if somewhat depressing, piece of music.
