Default Bloody designers
Is it a pre-requisite to be a bit thick to work in graphic design?

Just been discussing Steve Jobs with a couple at work and one thinks that he doesn't have an ego and the other thinks that he listens to his customers all the time lol.

I think you answered the question. I guess every graphic designer has a Mac of some sort. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's not an excuse to be an idiot.

You've already explained it - "graphic designers" - most have already been indictrinated to the "Steve Jobs Way", and you don't find fault with your Godhead, do you?
Just remember they have a shaky grasp of reality and you'll be fine... [thumbup]

You know who's thick? A person who makes a sweeping generalization based on a couple people and applies it to a whole group of people.

Seconded.

And I don't use a mac for my design.

You know who's even thicker? Someone who sees a question and reads it as a generalisation. That's truly cretinous [yes]

Me either. I haven't used a mac in 6 years.

Nice try. I'm pretty sure if I posted a thread titled "Is dangermoose a total moron of epic proportions," you would take it as an attack against you, not simply a harmless "question."

Are you actually retarded?

Is it a pre-requisite to be a bit thick to work in graphic design?

1) Even a turnip could work out that it was a playful question.
2) Even if it wasn't playful it's a question, not a statement.

Now, why don't you get back in your box instead of trying to make yourself look hard / cool / intelligent or whatever you're trying to accomplish here.

I'd be slightly concerned about how seriously you take the internet, but other than that I couldn't care less. I don't know you, I never will know you, so why should I be bothered if you don't like me?

This may help you out, since you seem to be having difficulties understanding your own motives here.

"Rhetorical Question:
A rhetorical question is a figure of speech in the form of a question posed for its persuasive effect without the expectation of a reply (e.g.: "Why me?") Rhetorical questions encourage the listener to think about what the (often obvious) answer to the question must be. When a speaker states, "How much longer must our people endure this injustice?", no formal answer is expected. Rather, it is a device used by the speaker to assert or deny something."

You can play stupid all you like, but its obvious what your intentions were. You weren't asking a question looking for honest answers. You had a bone to pick and wanted to vent your frustrations.

Look chief, I used to be a web designer for about 5 years. Do you really think I'd call myself stupid? And more to the point, do you really think that in 14 years in the industry I've really come to the conclusion that all designers are a bit dim?

I really don't care what your problem is, but you're a bloody misery!

I was just starting a bit of banter. Something you obviously fail miserably to understand.

The only good thing about this place is that it reminds me what life would be like if nobody had a sense of humour.

Come on guys, be a bit more understanding.

It's not Dangermoose's fault that he has a personality disorder. He can't help it, don't make fun of him!

It's not my fault that this place is populated by miserable w**kers who take everything seriously and don't laugh at anything.

Well just to simplify things a bit,

Let´s say you dislike fat women,
Let´s think Serial is a fat woman.
You say "Well my gosh aren´t fat women stupid" !
Now let´s assume Serial whilst enjoying her 12 pounds of turkey leftovers, reads this she´ll be like "Snap ! OMG no he didn´t" (/whilst doing that "no he didn´t" black women head shake thing" ??

I think the response is reasonable, not really bitter.
