Default How long has your computer been running?
I probably should restart soon... I'm sure my hard drives are real hot from backing up stuff

About 5 hours. I switch mine off every night, and when I go out.

4 days 16 hours.

The power went out when we tried to turn the dish washer, vaccum cleaner, oven and the espresso machine on . Usually I turn it off when I go abroad.

Only restart to install Windows Updates that require restart, and the odd time I update graphics drivers so 5 days 8 hours since the last batch.

According to OSX terminal:

up 1 day, 19:35, 2 users, load averages: 0.96 0.70 0.52

I always close the lid on my laptop when I'm not using it but it only goes into power saving. It must have run out completely out of batteries nearly 2 days ago.

My home PC gets shut down almost every evening, my work PC has been up about 115 hours (actually that divided by two) but my MacBook has been up for 77 days without a reboot.

I turn mine off whenever i go out or to sleep. I stick it in standby if i'm just popping out quickly or if i'm gonna be using it again in the next hour. I don't want to see most of your electric bills!

My country has the most expensive kw/h in the world. For that reason I now shut the computer down since having a family money is tight around here. On the odd day I may leave it on to download stuff like games on steam but most likely I let it just download when I am using it.

Also the lack of central air would explain why it looks like I have been working out when I have been home gaming dripping in sweat thanks to my 480.

When it comes to my computer, I'm greener than most people here. Pretty much if I'm not using it, I tend to either hibernate or turn it off outright. As of right now, my computer has been on for about 40 minutes. I'm not even a "green" person, but I just don't see the point of leaving it on for no reason.

You think it makes a difference if one turn it off when a lot of other people don't?

Anyway..2 days, 0 hours, 5 min and 40 seconds by the time I wrote this post.

About 15 minutes. I always turn it off when I'm not using it mainly because I'm not the one paying the bills.
