He looks nothing like Moby!

Interesting story though. Shame it "only" has 100k miles on it and doesn't run anymore.

That is pretty awesome though. He is probably one of the only(if not THE only) person to buy a lambo and use it as a daily driver like that. That is probably the most mileage any of them has ever seen.

What an awesome thing to do. Not so much the selling all of his possessions and basically living out of the car, I just mean what he did with the car. Using it as a vehicle and not just a toy to be taken out on occasion.

TBH it probably would still work if he had taken like 6 months to break in the engine slowly instead of going straight to the punishment of long road trips. Why didn't he just buy a used one that was already broken in? No warranty?

Now he should take it to Heffner Performance or Underground Racing and get a full race engine build and twin turbo kit [thumbup]

In short, yes.

It probably never popped in his mind either that it would have been wise to get the Lambo for a proficient and approved mechanic at least once or twice during the trek. Plus that normal service routine of course. Now he apparently has a wreck in his hands and nothing else than sweet memories...

For an Italian car getting that mileage is great!

More like the guy who had the balls to place everything on the line to live his dream and even in the face of huge obstacles pulls through.

In other words, this guy is pure sisu.

OR

Work a few years and save then buy it responsibly and enjoy years of happy lambo ownership?

That is my plan at least

Technically the bank still owns it, and if he can't pay off the car and house then he won't have a home!

With that said, talk about a guy that has enough guts to do something like that. He'll probably make a bit of money back on that story telling it on TV and radio. While it's easy to say it's stupid because it's something we wouldn't do. At the same time hell who on earth can claim they drove 100,000 miles in a lambo. Sometimes money isn't everything and living life is.

it would have been but Lamborghini are owned by AUDI, now there cars have German reliability(or they would do if this guy had serviced it properly).

Umm....long trips won't hurt a motor. In fact, breakin is usually over buy the 1st oil change at 3,000 miles. For a new engine I changed the oil at 100 miles, 500, 1000, and then at regular intervals when it looked dirty.

If the timing chain DID indeed stretch then there is nothing he could do about that, the only thing that would keep it from stretching is NOT driving it at all.
