Indeed, the British election is still so reserved compared to the US style [yes]

Shemker394 05-05-2010 05:00 PM

I think Cameron wanted to be the UK's version of Obama, but sadly just comes of as a weasel.

Nick Clegg is a reasonable speaker and appears a decent enough bloke, but I can't get behind his policies.

The fact Cameron had such an overwhelming lead less than 12 months ago and has run this campaign so badly that we are going to get a hung parliament is the clearest reason he shouldn't be anywhere near the job to me. He appears to have decided long ago that he was certain of winning, dropped the electioneering act and has come across as the smug, arrogant tosspot he actually is.

I think people are treating Lib-Dems as a "None of the above" option or are just going behind them to "get something different" without any thought as to whether it'll be worse than what we've got already.

enencephoth 05-05-2010 10:59 PM

The problem is, regardless who wins, the country is in such a f*cking state that for the first 2 years is going to be a nightmare. Its all kinder irrevelent who picks up the tab for the next 4 years because atleast 50% of them years will be no different to now.

Don't forget he was in the opposition. It was his job to destroy everything Gordon and Alistair came up with... and you can't deny he did it well (not that they were coming up with a lot of intelligent stuff anyway).

Now he's gotta stop being destructive and go constructive. I don't think he's done that bad. Don't blame him for not coming from the working class, it doesn't mean he's a douche. Certainly not more than Gordon B or that opportunist Nick Clegg who's got absolutely nothing to show.

Just hope we are *not* waking up to another labour government. I think i will throw myself out of the closest window if that happens.

Unfortunately 80% of the people where i live are low life, benefit scounging scum with the usual 20 kids and none of them work. Labour has made it this way and im sure they love it. I doubt we will ever see a different candidate elected in good old Middlesbrough. [no]

My vote will count for absolutely nothing.

Hung Parliament ftw, if so ill kill myself [thumbup].

JasminBerkova 07-05-2010 10:15 AM

God, the idea of a hung parliament is absolute crap - it'll take forever to do anything! [thumbdown]

It would be like a bunch of females running the country [rofl]

Uninkipsyncp 08-05-2010 09:45 AM

I cant believe that after all this voting and election campaigns the politicians are going to commit mass suicide in the houses of Parliament.

Does Jeremy Clarkson really piss that many people off that he gets his name put in political satire?

I'd say "Yes"

Come on can you blame them? Jeremy makes polution look cool in his program, and doesn't give a rat's ass about anyone saying otherwise (which too is "cool"). More or less like the Marlboro man did with his cigs.

I hope some day in the future a hot actress will make a statement along the lines of "say NO to condoms" (and stick to it) The church will be so pissed [rofl]

Grewlybreekly 08-05-2010 09:58 PM

Don't know about JC, as such, but I expect the TG crew must have pissed off a LOT of people with some of their stupid stunts!
Like blocking traffic in a village with a large tractor, blocking traffic in the middle of London with a Ford GT, holding up traffic when they get a caravan stuck when doing a U turn, blocking of a Parisienne street with their Supercars, etc. There are a lot of reasons for people to be pissed off with him.
I like the guy - and he's even coming round to the environmental concerns.
