Found these on another board...
This happened in Cincinnati, the driver was not hurt, he wasnt speeding, he got cut off by another car and had to turn quickly to avoid hitting them. ![]() ![]() ![]() I know a wooden pole in the ground tends to be an immovable object, and I certainly expect that at 35mph hitting a pole would render the car scrapped. But to split it in half? Me thinks the guy was enjoying his 420hp just a little to much. |

Wow!
Reminds me of that accident a few years back when I think it was a Ferrari in the LA area was cut completely in half, the person ejected from the car and survived! I wonder how fast this dude was going. He was stupid for doing it, cause looks like there is a decent amount of cars on the road. (I know it would be caused by the accident, traffic forming, but there are at least still cars on the road). I'd say this person who pulled out in front of him is equally as stupid as the speeding driver. |

so tampering with an accident scene like this is `ok` in the usa? in the uk you get thrown in jail for it.
edit: http://criminal-law.lawyers.com/ask-...nceU-6856.html yup its a serious offence as well in the USA. |

Also, it is legal to move the cars after an accident occurred if leaving them where they were presents a danger to other traffic and pedestrians. This is ofcourse, AFTER the officer has done is investigation. |

whilst i do totally agree - again you wouldn`t pick it up off the road and carry it down to where its laying would you - it would be pushed to the side from where it is resting ; coupled with the view in the first post - its at least 30 yards from the pole; what im trying to say is he was doing quite a bit more than 35 when he hit it

If an object were thrown from the vehicle in a collision it could make it that far. When the Enzo crashed at 200+ they found the engine block over 1/4 mile from the wreck itself. |

I'd say the bumper ended up nearly where it was moved off of the road, as if it wasn't, Why all the debris on the road and pavement next to the bumper and grill etc ??
Doesn't look good for passengers in this car though, drivers fairs no better either. http://autoguide.nascar.com/blog/103...n-ncap-testing Apparently this guy was going pretty quick too, but him and his passenger ended up in hospital. http://blog.cardomain.com/2008/10/28...-wra/#more-426 Camaro driver must have been doing nearly 100 mph, unless they really are made of vanilla wafers. |
