Although it did break, was it me or was the phone still actually working? I'm sure that says something doesn't it? I mean drop an iphone and the screen shatters into a million pieces and becomes useless, smash this phone into a corner of something solid several time and all you do is break something small off it but it still works.

I'm sure that guy is happy with his new phone though

Lmao, that was good stuff, it was also good to see that the CEO has a sense of humour, most CEOs would have curled up and died after firing the "Bash the phone against a fishtank" testers. [rofl]

That was pretty good, I thought the "unsinkable ship" claim would have taught the world not to make such claims.

I don't think many people will be bashing their phones repeatedly against a sharp metal edge in real-life scenario's.

Funny nonetheless! [thumbup]

now if the screen glass was made from polycarbonate that would never of happened

polycarbonate is what they use on fast jet helmet visors and if they can withstand bird strikes at 600 mph and emergency ejections im sure it could survive a fishtank

i bought one for my brother in law just before christmas, its taken a beating already. he tells me every now and again though the screen just turns itself off in the middle of using it. i have yet to see it happen though, its been submerged, hammered, rolled over by trucks and cars on gravel and mud but not on concrete yet

If you want to break it you'll break it, however you'll never accidentally hammer it repeatedly off of something so its pretty much covered for the majority of accidents

To be fair, they probably didn't test the phone by smashing the glass into a corner. It probably is fairly rugged in most circumstances.

But yeah, to claim its unbreakable is kind of stupid.

the nice packaging it came in didnt state it was unbreakable, nor did any of the documentation inside, it said it was the worlds most rugged phone with an IP-67 Rating

Out goes sissy marketing for water depth, in goes new rating for how many hours phones can withstand a corner of a fish tank bashing.

Exactly. Its just marketing wording, but the though does seem to be very though.
