The comment concerned the apathy of bystanders. The point being that if a gang rape can be ignored, who's going to pay attention to a fight?

I would have called the cops, but I wouldn't do anything more. I'm not one to get in a fight with 20 people.

It's sad that out of nearly 6 minutes of footage, next to nobody intervened when there was a non-stop constant stream of people going past.

Haha, I am re-reading that book right now and thought the same thing when I saw that video.
