Default Kings of Leon
Closer. Such a badass song. Absorb it, breath it in. Like a gentleman.

Wow. I'd hate to consider what you think good music is.

well, for that kinda general style of music, this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s769Qk8__8U

and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Nk3W7ZUKnQ

nevermind the crappy usermade "video"......

And then consider it was all written and recorded buy one guy, in his house, using cheap gear, for his first album. (we're talking, building his own cabinet for his guitar speakers)

I'd call that good music.

Not bad at all for an amateur recording at home[yes].
However I'd prefer if he'd go easy on the electric guitar. I don't like the metalish touch he gives to it

Acu,

Interesting... From your previous posts (and owning your own business), I assumed that your age was well outside of the target demographic of this type of generic rock.

It is like every song created in this genre is formulated from a job list and sent down an assembly line for mass production.

Generic guitar riff? Check
Psuedo-intellectual lyrics? Check (and some)
Whiny, obnoxious complaints, targeted at the proverbial "you"? Check
Use of the word: heart, with context of "break"? Check

Definitely not bad at all. He has a very " A Perfect Circle" sound to him. It still sounds a bit amateurish at times, but there's a lot of promise there.

To me, good music is good music. I think Kings has a nice distinct sound to them, regardless of what others think. To me Closer is a damn good song.

Bah, I did not mean to impede on your opinion, I was just saying that the target demographic is no you! This does not mean that you can not/should not like it.

Hell, I am guilty as well. A few months back I caught myself singing "Kiss you Through the Phone" and I am not a women, from the South, or mentally retarded (though one can argue that this list is triple redundant).

I assume that you are a fan of the genre since you have the ability to parse individual styles of the bands. It is all one big blur to me.

Yep Kings of Leon, Coldplay and before them the Stereophonics. Music that makes you want to kill yourself not because of depressing lyrical content but because they are depressingly bland.

Hey f*** you man. I'm all three, AND I half-wrote that song.

Kiss you through the phone.
