Hope RBR do well!

[thumbup] Love your threads CB, was looking for it earlier when posting about practice.
Watching practice was quite interesting, especially when Grosjean pinned it in the exact spot Piquet crashed last year [rofl] Forgot to update the drivers briefings did we Renault? Aside from that the Brawn's were fasest throughout and by gum was that track dusty! A clean line formed not to dissimilar to when they dry out a wet track http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blink1.gif Interesting hearing now that Bernie thinks they were too harsh on Flavio [rolleyes] I'm sure that has nothing to do with the fact that they're co-owners of QPR, and part of their shareholders agreement as I understand it is that if you're banned by any sporting federation then you aren't allowed to own a stake in the club [rofl] Seriously though no, Flavio shouldn't have his ban lifted / reduced, regardless of tha fact Piquet performed the action Flavio was his team boss and his manager, he was the man Piquet should be able to turn to for advice and he went and told him to pin it in the wall? **** off. Also not buying Symmonds account that Piquet suggested it ... that just makes no sense. Practice 2 up soon, will be interesting to see how they all go, Button was fastest before Barrichello's last run which I assume were on the super-softs? Although not sure ... |

No doubt, but Piquet was fighting for his drive. It just seems odd to me because as a driver who has qualified only one place behind Alonso so to him it would have been a chance to prove he could actually keep pace with him on track ... the idea that he thought he could prove his worth by offering to crash his car when he's qualified no worse then Alonso is just ... well it just doesn't add up.
However I can comprehend when in that mindset that if someone you trust, and just so happens to control your career, put it to him that if he were to 'accidentally' crash that it may help his chances of retaining his drive he would consider, and obviously did, cooperating. Not trying to exonerate Piquet at all, what he did was unforgivable but it is almost understandable - by this I mean it makes some sort of sense, not that I agree with it. By contrast Symmonds / Flavio's actions are completely reprehensible and I don't buy their accounts at all, it just doesn't add up. Anyway, Practice 2 is up! I've got to say considering this track is completely enclosed in concrete and chain fences like Valencia, which is gorgeous from the air but hideous from the ****-pit cams or fence cams, it looks beautiful at night. /edit/ Webber in the wall, looks like the same corner to me though not sure, he was top of the timesheet as well ... oh dear. Red flagged again, they're losing quite a lot of practice time today http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/wacko1.gif |
BMW got a hugely upgraded package today... will be interesting to see how they perform in quali/race. Apparently they're supposed to be a full second faster! [shocked]
|
he has to crash there... [rofl]
|
Jenson P12... oops. Rubens will still take a 5 place drop but wherever he ends up he is going be starting quite a bit ahead either way.
Red Bulls up there too! It ain't over till it's over baby! I think i'm actually routing for Rubens!! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/excited1.gif |

But Rubens needs to get 6th or higher in P3 to start in front of Jenson |
Rubens in the wall! Session red flagged!
Lewis on pole [thumbup] |
Boy, I was really looking forward to that last lap in Q3...oh well... SPEED tv was in such a hurry to cover another event, that we didn't even get to see a replay of what happened to Barrichello. [thumbdown]

Indeed, I had a feeling that Rosberg would have snatched that somehow, especially considering his stunning Q2 lap.
Still Hamilton surely has to be favourite for the win, especially with that fuel load. |
Go RBR! 1-2 finish FTW and get this championship REALLY started[thumbup]
|
Good drive from Glock there. Button was quick when he needed to be too which has made things look decidedly better.
|
Yay for the Ham. Yay for the But finishing in front of the Bar. Yay for the Hak acknowledging the camera. [thumbup]
Boo for my TV picture going wonky on the LAST LAP. [cursing] |
Brawn were certainly helped by the retirement of other cars though - only 14 cars actually finished. Still, you don't win championships with your car in the garage.
Good race for Glock! |
It's pretty much Buttons destiny to win, hell... he could turn up to race in a wheelie bin for the last three races, and his rivals would still find a way not to take enough points off him.
But yeah, nice drive from Lewis, Timo and co! |

Unusprisingly boring race, shame everyone who could have challenged Lewis on track got penalties for speeding/going over white lines etc, could have added some action

Nice to see Jacques and Mika on the forum :). If Villeneuve returns that'll be awesome [thumbup]
