Why do the doors open inwards, so when you go in you push but when you leave you have to grab the handle (which everybody else has touched, some not washing their hands) and pull? It would be better if it was the other way around.

I have no idea lol.

they open inwards because if they opened outwards you would be twatting people in the face as they walked past or as they enter the toilet.

Only half sensible reason I can think of is to stop the door opening into the path of others on the street - more of a chance someone might get hit by it or it will cause an obstruction if it opens into the street/corridor where people may be walking where as it opens into the toilet then it will lay flat against the wall or be less likely to get in peoples way.

When I am in a public toilette, I leave the door open. Less chance of injury, more chance of getting off that way.

Yeah, that's probably it. Although as they are designed atm you end up twatting people in the face who are leaving as you enter, and most of the time the entrance is down some corridor or out of the way of people passing by anyway

It was just something that occurred to me last time I was in a public lav.

They usually shut by themselves.

It's easier to kick a door in than out.

Because they know some are disgusting enough to not wash their hands so some people will touch the handle and others as well..spreading diseases so in that turn those people have to go doctors and they get paid, it's all a conspiracy.

To get the door open if it has a closer, I just grab the closer linkages and pull! I hate touching handles on toilet doors. [no]

I just use a piece of tissue that I have on me to open the door and then throw it away.

Plus I usually have a small bottle of sanitizer in my pocket anyway.

Im immune to any human diseases so I dont care!!

Bugs the heck out of me as well - I've never had a sensible response from health services/agencies either.
I use the issue paper method or hook my little finger around the lowest part of the handle as I figure that'll be the bit that's touched least.
