Default Theology at the University of Oxford
Hi,

I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of London, in the final year of my BA Hons Degree. Upon the completion of my degree, I am hoping to go on to do a taught Masters at the University of Oxford.

However, I know little about the individual colleges and the staff at the university, and which would be most suitable for me as someone interested primarily in Orthodox theology - particularly patristics, canon law and liturgics.

If anyone could give me any information as to which colleges I would be best off applying to, and who to look out for among the faculty there, I would be most grateful. Any further information relating to theological study at Oxford would also be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

In XC,
Kris

Thank you for your reply, but I was looking specifically for information on the inner workings of the University of Oxford, not theological schools in general

Hi, this just caught my eye - if you're still interested, the best way is to email the dons who teach theology. Their emails will be on the faculty website and while it is a bit scary, they will usually appreciate being asked questions. Personally, I know that Worcester college has been very friendly in a social context towards Orthodox believers and their chapel (all colleges have CofE chapels) has an Orthodox icon, so that might be a good place to go if you are looking for somewhere friendly.

Thank you for this reply. I have actually sent off my application already, but I shall bear this in mind if I am not successful with my first choices.
