Default Man survived BOTH atomic bombings
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7963581.stm

The moral of this is.......

If you have ever felt angry about seeming to be in the wrong place at the wrong time...... It could always be much worse!

I am sure there are tons of other things that could be drawn from this, depending on your personality and mood...... [surrender]

Yeah I read about this the other day. That is an incredible story to tell and one that most certainly will not be forgotten. That is definitely a life story.

Those Japanese have some of the most interesting stories from WW2.

I like those stories where the Japanese would leave just 1 soldier to defend an island as their were so many of them all they could spare was 1 soldier.
I remember no more than 5 years ago, some Japanese Soldier was captured on one of these smaller islands. He was like in his 70's or something when he found out that the War had ended long long ago.

All they left him with was his rifle that still worked, couple survival tools and a jar full of bullets.

I will read anything that sits still long enough, and its hard not to share when you find an interesting story. Though that being said, I sometimes wonder when the government will kick in my door for perusing the odd Arab news outlet or two as well.

Al Jazeera is often good for making one blink rapidly for several seconds, but I would not post a story from there unless I wanted to start a flame war. [yes]
