Default Few questions to people from Toronto area.
Tomorrow i'm applying for Canadian work Visa and i have few questions hopefully i can be steered in the right direction.

1. Hows the job market in general and IT jobs?
2. Any good living area around Toronto that i should consider? Access to public transportation and not too expensive on rent.
3. Any advice of a specific company that i can start looking at that provides information on rental properties/apartments, etc? - edit; i found most things that i need on Craiglist.
4. Anything else i should know and consider a head of time?

I live in the US, i'm Russian with American citizenship, to make long story short, im just going to pack my bags and move to Canada, find work and just start my life from scratch.

Thanks in advance.

1. Terrible
2. Nope. Expect to pay a boatload for rent.
3. Kijiji is a good resource for rent.
4. Get ready for some hard time if you think it'll be easy here, cause it seriously isn't.

Did you do some research ? Only thing i know is rents are through the roof over there. I'd say come to Montreal instead.

I dont speak French, and i hardly understand it, so thats half the jobs i wont be able to get in Montreal.

After comparing rent pricing, the rent cost is lower in Toronto area then Wash DC area, so thats a plus right there.
As far as jobs, im not too worried, it cant be as bad as it is here. I spoke with a company that will help me find a job, same company that helped me here as well a year ago. And they do a damn good job too.

Guess i have to wait for paper work and then start packing.

Thanks again.

I'd be impressed if you have skills in such high demand that you can find a well paying enough job to survive in Toronto. unless you've got alot of string pullers working for you. Good luck! and keep us posted.
