I have been looking at a few televisions recently and for some reason I find that the plasmas have better picture quality?

What are the main differences between a lcd and a plasma and why should I buy one but not the other.

Anyway, both televisions sets were 42 inch with full hd (1080p) running the spiderman bluray.
