£11.20 is a good wage, why only 10 hours a week? What do you do?

I work in a deprived part of Scotland in a youth centre, basically trying to help the younger generation there with things like self developement etc (also things like sexual health, safety with drugs etc etc).

I'm only sessional (as are all the workers around my age category), so the hours are low, the few older members make up the core team which have the most hours, I'm a youth worker..http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/smile1.gif

Hmm, I probably should I guess, not really sure where I'd start but I suppose if I asked my boss at my current job she could help me with it...http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/smile1.gif

I agree, I just wish I could fork out myself to do the same.. What do you mean fork out? It shouldn't have to cost you anything to be in this field, or did I mis-read your post? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blush1.gif

Yay!

Well, today started off bad, my amplifier died, although I was planning to upgrade it anyway, but still, means I have to fork out around £300 for my new one.

Good news, just had a development day with work, and got my hours doubled from 5 hours per week to 10 hours per week, and got a pay rise from £8.20 per hour to £11.80 per hour, I know the hours are low but still, if I find a solid second job I can finally get my own place!

I'm a happy bunny! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/smile1.gif
