May the democratic base start committing suicide by the millions at the gates of Denver. Instead of Saturday morning cartoons there will be wailing and total despair. JOE BIDAN has lost his whole family in a car crash in 1965 and suffered a brain explosion (anurism) in 1988 but this does NOT make him qualified to be the president of anything except the office stapler.
LET US FLIP IT IN REVERSE. BIDAN may be a foreign police expert who has spent his life studying it and working it out, but he also said that 7/11s are INDIAN SANCTUARIES and told me I was a lunatic for possessing a third penis (double bareled shotgun). Perhaps I have not made myself clear. I met JOE in the airport, REAGAN NATIONAL, a few months ago, and he told me, I AM NOT THE VICE PRESIDENTIAL PICK AND I WOULDNT ACCEPT IT IF OFFERED. Did I mention he told this to the reporters jacking it on his driveway. WRONG WRONG WRONG. How can you be WRONG about something you KNOW THE ANSWER TO. This country is the world's most populous. WHAT IS CALIFORNIA TRABECK! NO! NO NO NO! THAT IS A STATE YOU DUMB ****! GET THE **** OFF MY SHOW! BUT I KNEW THE ANSWER I WAS JUST LYING! BUT IT COST YOU MONEY! I KNOW! Would you make that contestant the Vice President? Asked and answered. **** the donkey. ![]() ![]() SOURCE http://www.tnr.com/columnists/story....c9df73&k=93697 |

Biden undermines Obama's message of change since he's Mr. Center. He may alienate the left, and he doesn't even bring in any new states. So much so that he's even voiced support for a McCain presidency in the past (aside from his criticism of Obama which is, granted, to be expected in a primary)... McCain's camp wasted no time getting the clips on Youtube: August 23, 2008, 6:43 am McCain Rolls Out New Ad With Biden’s Words By Kate Phillips Just three hours after the Obama campaign sent out its text announcement, the McCain campaign rolled out its first ad this morning, using Senator Joe Biden’s own words during the primary season about Senator Barack Obama. From a debate in 2007, a clip shows Mr. Biden standing next to Mr. Obama. George Stephanopoulos of ABC News queried Mr. Biden: “You were asked, “Is he ready?” You said, ‘I think he can be ready but right now, I don’t believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.’ ” Mr. Biden: “I think that I stand by the statement.” In addition, the McCain ad uses footage from another TV appearance, where Mr. Biden said, “I would be honored to run with or against John McCain, because I think the country would be better off.” Good pick Barack! ![]() |

Actually, Obama picking someone who talked trash about him actually works to his advantage: it shows that he's willing to mend fences, that he's not leading some cult of ideological purity, and maybe even that he has a sense of humor. There's lots wrong with Biden, but I don't think those comments are going to have legs.
As for his vetting process: Obama was not my first, second, or even third choice for the Dem nominee, but I have to admit (as I think any fair-minded person would) that so far this guy has run the smartest, most disciplined, most strategically impressive campaign of any candidate, in either party, in the last 3-4 decades. Whatever else is wrong with Obama, it's not that his campaign team is prone to big mistakes; if it were, we'd be talking about Hillary's veep pick right about now. |

Like Rufus, I don't like Biden, but think that he's not a bad pick. He's an effective attack dog with foreign policy gravitas (after Graham and Lieberman announced their trip to Georgia, the Georgians asked for Biden). And he's able to come up with great one liners ("a noun, a verb, and 9/11"). While he voted for the war, he also tried to engineer an alternative to war (Biden-Lugar, which was undermined by Gephardt). The other big black mark is his vote for the Bankruptcy Bill, but that's largely home state pork (all of the credit card companies are based in Deleware). Take away his financial sector votes, and he's basically center-left, like Obama.
As a bonus, he has a working class background, and is one of the least wealthy Senators. And he's old enough that he probably won't run in 8 years. Most importantly, he's neither Evan Bayh nor Tim Kaine. ![]() Just shows who really will run an Obama presidency: Kennedy and company. They demaded Biden, they got Biden. What does Biden have to do with Kennedy? They were both in the Senate for ages, but that's about it. |

Ugh it's Biden :vomit: Hooray! It's Biden. ![]() Remember eons ago when we were making our predictions who'd be President, and I picked Biden? I did so because I thought the American public would be smart enough to figure out he was the best person for the job. Well, they weren't, but the No. 2 spot isn't bad. ![]() |
