Thanks, and for peoples info, I just started and I'm a Customer Service Supervisor. I didn't join there specifically for the employee discount, but it certainly affected my choice.
And thank you for the Plasma vs. LCD explanation. Since I can get a huge discount on the protection plans, I should probably take the Plasma route and just have it replaced whenever it cocks out. |

Well Circuit City doesn't seem to carry Pioneer so I would recommend the Samsung LN52A750, It's very likely the best LCD currently available, I have the 46" version in my living room, the blacks are as good as it gets for an LCD. If you watch a lot of movies or SD cable broadcasts, a plasma might be better. |

Yes indeed, that's the set I was thinking of. If you aren't bothered by ghosting, and with this panel's 4ms response time, you probably won't be, an LCD like this is a good choice (especially if you do a lot of gaming). |

Ok guys, answer his question(s) or don't post, simple as. Maybe he doesn't work in the TV department, and maybe he's already asked a co-worker but wants second opinions.
I don't know the best TV you can buy from CC, but I can add something about LCD vs. Plasma. I've owned both, and both seem to have certain advantages. Plasma has no motion blur/ghosting, MUCH better black levels, and looks amazing in dark room. However, plasmas can be prone to image retention, grainy pictures, reflections off the glass (if the room is bright) and are REALLY hot. LCDs are better for bright room viewing, run cooler, don't have as grainy of a picture, and have no problems with IR whatsoever. However, they can have dead/stuck pixels, DO have crappier black levels, and of course there's ghosting/motion blur. Modern plasmas don't suffer too much from IR, but it can and will happen if you aren't careful. If you're willing to spend major money, you can get an LCD with darn good black levels (the newest Samsung series, afaik). |
