Default Newegg, grr!
For the second time in 2 months I have had part of an order canceled due to an item being out of stock. I don't get notified right away, but 2 days later. I don't understand why it takes them 2 days to figure it out. So, instead of waiting for the part to be in stock (a quad core Xeon 5420 for a server I'm building) I decide to go the next step down only this time my business card is declined!

I know exactly what is supposed to be on there, it's a $2500 limit and the total came to about $2200 for everything I ordered. I get on Newegg support chat and find out that the original part won't be refunded for 3-5 days!! WTF!! The damn order was canceled, I want the money back now! They say there is nothing they can do. So now I have to wait 3-5 days for the refund so I can order a different part. I can't just pay off the card as I am not the one who handles that.

Last time it was fiber modules that I needed for an install. I ended up getting them 2 weeks after I ordered them. WTH is up with newegg lately? Anyone else experiencing these kinds of problems? I order high volume from them, probably spend 3k a month. It just seems it's only happening to stuff I need right away. If they weren't cheaper than the other vendors I deal with, I'd stop buying from them. I just hope this isn't a trend they are going to continue.

Maybe they've gotten too popular and are turning into a typical big business. They can't handle every order with care anymore. I've been very fortunate with them. Have had no problems with them. In fact, I was able to order my Asus eee 8G notebook and get it even before it was available. Not sure how that happened.

When a transaction is carried out the money is parked on a server which then releases the money to the seller.

so whilst the money is still in the parked state neither parties can get at the money until the transaction handshake is complete.

then the refund can be processed.

hence why it can take a few days.

hope that helps

I hate todays day were EVERYTHING is instant with the ad of computers, except for anything that involves the bank.

Here, paper is the only thing that is instant. Computer transactions though, take 1 to 5 days which is stupid. And it is nuts because it is there, pending, the entire time. What is there to pend for all that time anyways!?

YOU KNOW WHY ?

its because whilst the money is parked there on a banks computer the bank use it to invest in stuff to make money theres no chance of it being lost because the bank will always honour the transaction but that 2k or what ever they could make double out of it and skim the profits from your money without you really knowing.

same as money transfers to one account to another it should be instant but its not thats because the cheeky buggers are doing the exact same thing playing ur money on stocks and shares and usually winning and keeping the proceedings from it.

and guess what ?

its perfectly legal.

Simple. Newegg is cheaper. I work in government. Even going to vendors who deal in "Amazing government pricing" aren't cheaper than Newegg. About the only thing I can get cheaper by going elsewhere is software and software licensing, which I do go elsewhere. Pretty much everything I do I need multiple quotes from multiple vendors. Newegg is consistently cheaper.

Edit: I'm also not a business, I work for someone else, actually the public. I'm the IT guy so all IT purchases go through me including Network, Computer, Phone, and Security related.

Yep, 'electronic transfers' takes just a few hours as I found when I bought my flat, took 5 hours for the money to go from Halifax to my solicitors. Yet the banks take upto 5 working days for this process - they get to skim the interest off. Same with refunds, cheque payments etc... [cursing]

I had the same damn problem a while back.... My order was a couple hundred dollars, but it was annoying. It took them a week on top of my order being out of stock to refund my account [cursing]

Sometimes it sucks to wait, but I understand man [surrender]
