I'm against guns n all that (though only in my head, I wouldn't tell you what to do), but I DEMAND you posts videos / pics of you shooting the crap out of things (i.e. targets n stuff of course) http://discussworldissues.com/forums...ies/laugh1.gif

Magazines, not clips. An M1 Garand uses clips, that gun clearly doesn't, nor any S&W current pistols.
Thanks a lot for that contribution Mister pedantic. The term is pretty much interchangeable these days since things like stripper clips and en bloc clips are fairly obsolete. That is unless you are particularly anal. http://discussworldissues.com/forums...es/tongue1.gif

It's not about the global feeling it's against the forum rules to discuss drugs plain and simple. Plus it's not illegal to own firearms in the UK it's just more restricted.

How does talking about a new gun fit in the politics section? it belongs there as much as Football threads do as they are both to my mind sporting. As for minors what the hell, I think it's been established that several people on these boards have been shooting guns since they were practically in diapers, I was shooting rifles before I was a teenager and was living in the UK!

Perhaps though if you don't want to see this subject matter discussed don't go clicking on threads with the title, "Bought my first handgun... :D".

I think it's time for a show us you guns thread, what do the Americans here think?
I don't have a problem with that just include this subject as well.or atlest restrict the places that you can see it.
Hand guns are 100% illegal in the UK.
Take the blinkers off.
So that makes it ok then .
Good point, but its not me I'm worried about.

freelancer3018:-Why should it be moved if it brings up no political questions, the man bought a hand gun and wanted to tell others. We aren't arguing gun law or anything along those lines. What you are saying is political correctness at its worst, just because you feel uncomfortable to see the subject matter in general discussion you want it moved to a section where it doesn't belong. Just ignore it if it bothers you that much.

Reply:.The subject matter is very political in the UK and its inner-city's,and I would imagine in other country's as well.If people are not happy about the subject and some are then it becomes political(unless you wish to dictate).

just to back up the illegality of handguns

Some people... you seem to be the only one calling for it to be moved. If it bothers you don't read it why is that so hard for you?

Not technically true but there are few which are legal.

Take the blinkers off.
No buddy you take the blinkers off, 99.99%+ of firearms are owned for legitimate reasons and hunting is one the most popular participatory sports in this country then add in target and silhouette shooting, etc. The number of people using guns for legitimate leisure activities is huge and if people want to discuss that here so be it. If someone wants to talk about using a handgun to hold up a gas station that's a very different story.

I am not the only one calling for it to be moved and as stated in an earlier post, It's not me I'm worried about .Im against the current gun culture in the UK .
Not in any way am I suggesting the OP has anything other than, showing his new purchase to those that do gun stuff resonibly .But NOT the responsibly minded people that I'm worried about .Is it so hard to grasp .

You talk about firearms I'm talking about hand guns in the UK you could reverse the stat's you just gave .
I do not have a problem with that but in this thread right from the start people were talking about how dangerous their city was and how they needed to protect themselves ,"some sport" .
