Videocard or PS3?

I have a little bit of money to spend right now and I can't decide which I should get.
I have narrowed it down to a ps3 or a new video card. I really like the upcoming games for the PS3 (MGS, FF, GT5 ect.) and that is what made me think about it. Then again, my 7800GT is getting a bit old now but the only game i play a lot if COD4 (for now) and it runs great at max.
Also if your wondering, I do have a 1080i TV.

This is rough!
Help?

Well there's no point in getting any other card than a 8800GT or a 3850 right now imo

'cause the performance difference between a 8800GT and everything above it isnt reflective of the price difference, and new cards will come soon, not to mention current cards don't cope with crysis very well anyway, if that is to be taken as any indication of future games demands.

A decent 8800GT can be had for £150 or something, so I don't see why you'd have to choose really, you could probably get both in time, I'd say you could just plain wait it out if you have the patience.

The games you mentioned for PS3 won't be out for a bit yet, and you just said you don't play many pc games apart from COD4 which runs fine, so what's the rush?

By the time those PS3 games come out, PS3 may have had a price drop, or better deals will definetly emerge. New GPU's will come out soon enough and force the price of current ones down.

I'd say wait

edit: Or PS3 if you HAVE to get one, but also get a 3850 for like 90 quid :D
Something about PS3's that really makes me want one, great bit of kit

i got my 3850 for 91 quid delivered ( 180 dollars about) lot cheaper than a ps3 and very good 'bang for buck'

If you're already playing CoD4 on the PC, I'd go with the 8800GT. I'm playing CoD4 on an 8800GTX and it is flawless with the graphics on the highest settings (it's a gorgeous looking game).

My PS3 is collecting dust (only gets used infrequently as a BluRay player) and I'm waiting for GT5 as well. But that could be awhile...
