US people ! Need some help finding out if a old friend has died
Hi guys, i need some help here.
Our old neighbor in the states, which we still had contact with (he must be ~ 70 now) telefon is not in service anymore. Which kinda brought up the question if the poor guy has finally went to rest. (he has/had Cancer for 30 years i believe) Anyways if anybody has an idea what i can do to find out of his whereabouts i be glad to hear them. Sadly we don´t know anybody we could call over there and ask. A little info i have: His name is Phil Coose (i´m not sure if his full name was Phillip) He lived in Leander, Texas. Battlecreek ln (i don´t remember the #) I even have his tel # (if someone knows where to call, i´d be very greatful for the help and would be happy to give you his disconnected number, calls from Germany to authorities (like the phone company) in the states is friggin expensive.) |
I wouldn't really know how you could find out Leander is about a 600 mile drive from here. Have you tried calling the local newspaper? Maybe they would have run an obituary if he has passed away.

Damn I really could have helped a couple months ago. I lived in Austin, TX, which is like really close to Leander.
Now I'm on the other side of the world :/ EDIT: Try this site and see if it helps http://www.ancestry.com/ |

To OP, there may be a news clipping service that would review the obituaries - for a price. You coulsd also try writing to the local civic council, or whatever, and ask if they have a record of his dying. |
