Default Life as a Marine Grunt in Afghanistan
"Behind all the news and all the propaganda, Marines in Afghanistan decide to keep it real and show you what its really like dealing with a deployment in Afghanistan. This will either piss you off, make you laugh or maybe both."

interesting video

At 4.29, I thought the Predator comment was quite amusing considering the obvious sound effects.

They can laugh at those kids in the same way that I laugh pitifully at soldiers who were stupid enough to enter into a situation where they're fighting for something they don't even believe. Idiots.

No surprise, they act like every jerk off that drove me ****ing insane in high school. I couldn’t hang with any of them for even 30 seconds without wanting to shoot myself.

Ummm.... Its not like they can so "No, I am not going!"

They are forced to go whether they want to be there or not. Plus those guys are the Marines. They are going to end up hating it and they get stuck with all the sh/t jobs.
Though, imo, anyone who volunteering goes into the forces isn't so bright. I saw a video of new recruits a while ago, and some 70% said that they joined so that they could get money for school. Going in for all the benefits can be pretty sweet, you just hope that you aren't one of the troops sent over seas or sees any action.

Seems typical to me.

The marijuana and predator sense were pretty funny. [rofl]

i sure hope this lot arn't your typical US marine. if so then they have got major problems. what a complete bunch of retards. like someone else said, i could not spend 1 min with these guys let alone 6 months.

did they really think that this footage would not somehow get on the net?

What a total embarrassment to their country, and they don't even agree with their posting too.

I'm lost for words.

Sadly these *******s are generally the type of people I see volunteering these days. Especially for the Marines...

I wonder how you guys would act or feel if you were in the same situation. I have a feeling some of you would just **** your pants, run to mommy for protection, suck on your thumb and blame the big bad man for hurting you.

That was honestly how they felt. They're frustrated. I wonder what someone could capture on footage if they taped your every move during the most trying times of your life.

I would say "I hate this country" if I was forced to walk through it with rain, snow, rocks, sun and other deplorable conditions.

you seem to be forgetting that these dudes were not made to go. what exactly did they think they were gonna be doing when they signed up?

there is also the little thing called professionalism. slagging off the natives and making them look stupid does not come under this.

They're the typical person in (my) high school that were in ROTC (not bashing the program) and planning to go into the armed forces as soon as high school was over.

So do you think the only time people should join the Marines/Army is when they are drafted?

No, I’m saying when they should join up they should kind of expect a little bit that it’s going to suck and be like hell and the ones that join would really be the peace keepers and freedom fighters. I hear them talking about how if they get married right before they join up they’ll get better pay and that they can relocate for free to Japan for a few years if they join up and crap like that.

Everyone that joins in peace time or war time should expect to end up in a hell hole like that and be ready to be their best during that time.

As a future enlistee to the USAF, thats a pretty harsh thing to say about our military and I really don't see your logic behind it. [no] Not everybody has things handed to them growing up, the military is a great way to kick start someones career. Not going to get into detail with all the benefits and life changing experiences the military has to offer, I just thought your statement was rude and didn't make yourself look any brighter than someone volunteering into the military.

From what I understand, the military benefits and pay are not that great. Millions of students pay for college without support from their parents through grants, loans and work-study programs. If you really want to kick-start your career, go to college now, study hard, and get a job.

The Whole Afghanistan affair is a total waste of time anyway.

The Russians sure as hell did'nt win any wars over there despite having Tanks and Hinds backing up their troops, So God knows why the US and UK think their any bloody different.

The Farmers don't won't to grow anything besides Opium, because they get paid a hell of a lot more growing that **** than they do growing normal agricultural stuff.

Several sources have even stated that the people are worse off now than they were under the Taliban rule.

I'm just sick to the back teeth of the US and UK, thinking that it should be them policing the f*cking world, they should just keep their troops in their own countries and stop f*cking around in other peoples backyards, if other countries want our help, they can bloody well ask for it.

Our troops obviously don't wanna be there, and looking at that god foresaken place, I can see why.

So the only people who should volunteer are those that will act like it's just another day when they "end up in a hell hole?" Perhaps they are acting their best given the circumstances? How do you think you would act if you were being shot at and had to walk for who knows how many miles with who knows how many pounds of supplies on your back.

Which comments in the video did you find offensive?
