sorry to be a spiv but
if a lcd hi def telly has a resolution of
1366x768 and has a pc connection would I be able to use that res for a PC or even use for example 1280x800 < just an example ? because my old man is gonna get a phillips 32" PF5531D/10 LCD TV and he wants one of those little media PC's of which Im gonna knock up for him. |
Yes you can use 1366x768, which would give you the best quality for that LCD as you'd have 1:1 pixel mapping. You might have to setup a custom resolution to achieve that, I can't say for certain as its been a long time since I've used a desktop computer. I'd imagine most modern drivers have support for LCD resolutions.
You'd want to try and keep any resolution the same aspect ratio as your set (16:10) for best image quality, so the next one down would be 1280x720 I believe. |
damn just managed to find a spec sheet for the max pc resolution
its 1024x768 |

Just use a DVI to HDMI cable.
I assume it has HDMI input... Then you can use 720p (1280x720). Or it may accept 1366x768 over hdmi. |

can you get HDMI graphics cards ? or is HDMI some re hashed tv version of DVI yeah it has 2 |
HDMI and DVI are very similar, you just need a little adaptor plug or a DVI to HDMI cable. And you can get video cards with HDMI out as well now yeah.
