please help my girlfriend

I'm trying to help her buy a notebook for under 600. she really wants a mac but she doesn't have enough money to get one. we found an acer turion x2 with 120gbhd 1 gig ram and DVD/CD-RW 15.4 ws for 549 at circuit city and that looks to be the best option for her right now. she hate toshibas ang gateways and would prefer a 14.1, but can deal with a 15.4. and also if she were to get a 512mbram how much would it cost to upgrade to a gig? if there are any better deals please let me know, thanks.

Yes they seem to have adapted and can now blend in. This creates a whole new set of problems.

Yes, FM is full of spammers.

So what does she plan on using the lappy for? You can get an extra half gig of ram for about $70 installed at the time you purcahse the lappy. The acer you mentioned sounds like a fine laptop for daily use.

online school, internet surf, email, ebaying, etc. nothing to demanding. she always has like 10 things open at once and gets pissed when stuff slows up can't stand waiting for the boot up. also, how hard is it to install ram yourself?

It is extremely easy, just unscrew 2 screws, open up the hatch covering it and slide it in.

Yup yup. Very easy to do yourself if they don't offer free installation if you buy the ram there.

I would get the acer laptop. My experiences with toshiba laptops haven't been that great. A friend of mine recently bought one and its a decent machine, but its been locking up a bit recently. It shouldn't have any issues with day to day stuff like she wants it for. Heck, there's a pc in my house running vista with slower hardware than what's in that laptop and it runs just fine.
