Default Car crash near my house in Manchester.
http://www.thisisbury.co.uk/display....rror_crash.php

My friend told me that apparently one of the lads took his dad's BMW out for a joyride with two friends.

Did 88mph in a 30mph zone overtook a lorry and hit central reservation causing the car to swerve off and hit a tree.

The driver died, one of the friends lost both legs and the one in the back survived with just cuts, bruises and whiplash.

To be honest, I know it'll sound cruel and cold of me, but I say he deserved it and now he's ruined his mates life. At least that's one more ******** off the road.[cursing]

If I am honest, when I was 18, I drove like a bit of a tool, bu the difference is that whenever I wanted to give it some, it was always somewhere where if I crashed it would not involve anyone else directly , and never with passengers in the car.

I do however think that the current driving test is far too easy, and should include real-life situations like skid control etc.. I learnt my car control techniques on a wet private car park, working week-ends collecting / delivering hire cars. although at the time, I must have looked a right chav joyrider, it has helped me to get out of dangerous situations , and driving in snow/rain.

It is a shame that young life has been wasted, but I think a lot of young lads have/and will do similar stupid things like he did. I really think it could have been avoided though

That said, I was an idiot driver when I was 17-18. But overtaking a lorry at 88mph? Especially that road which has loads of traffic going through it? What an idiot.

Then again, my car would nevedo 88mph. It'd usualy be around 40-50mph when I over take someone. I've done 80mph in a 40mph zone before but that was on a dual carriage way at 3-4am in the morning with no pedestrian access.

Drives me nuts, possibly the passengers didn't even want to be there going that fast, coming back from football and my mate was driving, he decided he wanted to show me how good a driver he was and how fast his car goes, he got 135 mph on a dual carriage way and over 100 on a single carriage way (50 limit) weaving in and out of traffic, there was no way I could have stopped him and not cause a crash but he got a battering when he did stop.

Then I found out he'd had 5 pints at the club before we left, I was a little bit pissed off.

Thats too bad. That stuff makes me glad that I haven't had a sports car at my disposal at my age. I know that I would end up killing myself. Some of my friends that have something sporty, I don't like riding with them because they try to show off what they got, but like I already know what they got and just want to arrive at my destination safely. After I got into an accident with my sister driving right when I fell asleep (usually had to tell her to slow down and stuff because she is a nutty driver) I don't really trust anyone driving me abouts. Gets me all nervous and paranoid, espeically people who think that they are superman when they drive when really they are sh/ttie drivers.

Radcliffe to be precise, which is in between them two yeah.

Well I'm there during Uni holidays anyway. I'm 100 miles down south from Manchester in Nottingham Trent at the moment for studies.
