Err, because it's a different site? Given that it's a PC gaming site, it's obviously going to have a similar list of forum sections to it!

Because YouGamers is focused more on gaming, where as Futuremark is benchmarking and hardware

In my opinion & it's only my opinion, having two similar forums shouldn't be too much of a problem provided that there is a way to advertise "YouGamers" to a new userbase whom haven't been familiar with Madonion / Futuremark before.

So, somehow you (Futuremark) need to get the word out via some different channels, i.e not through the 3DMark credits but perhaps by running some magazine adverts or other independant internet based advertising.

Once there is a strong userbase at "YouGamers" perhaps 6 months ~ 1 year, then and only then could you perhaps consider slowly migrating the "Futuremark" forum into a 3DMark / PCMark / Benchmarking based forum with no gaming sections.

The question though that entered my mind earlier was to do with bans, and if you don't want to answer it in public then of course you're welcome to PM me.

If users are banned here (FM) would such a ban carry across to YG?

(I'd assume that you've discussed this as a team before everything went live beforehand.)

I am predicting a flood of threads titled "Why was I banned?!" or "I was banned for no reason!" at the new forums. Of course, there is always a reason and they know exactly what it is. The MO chat room used to be the default place to moan about your unfair banning, now I think it will be YouGamers.

I'm stoked on the new forums but haven't registered yet as I can't decide if I wan't a new username. This one is a bit childish.....

I want to avoid adding and removing boards like mad over the coming months and although DC is popular, there's rarely sufficient regular discussion to need a board at YG, which is of course a gaming site.

PLUS YouGamers is a Futuremark product, and the current team is for Futuremark. Makes more sense to keep the pure Futuremark team instead of a Futuremark and a Futuremark sibling team!
