I doubt it'd freeze in an hour. But yes it will freeze eventually. Beer is mostly water and the alcohol that's in it isn't enough to keep it from freezing.

It takes about 1.5 hours to make a beer ice-cold when it's 20 degrees or so in the freezer in my experience ... Doubt it'll freeze that quickly

No. all of the beer wont freeze just the water content. alcohol freezes below approximately -100 degrees celsuis

The top will probably end up shooting off. I had left a 12 pack in my trunk over night once. Quite the mess.

On a side note, if you want to get beer cold in a matter of minutes put it in a big bowl full of cold water, ice cubes, and some table salt. The water will actually get below freezing this way. Also, it will cool it much faster than using the freezer or the fridge. At least I learned something in college .

Well it's in the trunk now, hopefully it'll just be nice and cold when works over, and not a beer slushy.

Well... what really happens, is the water freezes, and releases the CO2 like crazy... and the bottle breaks... and you get a big foamy frozen blob with shards of glass in it.... it's pretty cool....

But, it should take a pretty long time to get it that way...
