British Telecom Broadband users - Remove the ring wire!

For any of you wanting a higher sync, or more stable on, remove the ring wire from your BT socket, or get an ADSL faceplate. It boosted my SNR from 6 - 11.0 and no more resyncs. This also meant I kept the higher download speeds. You do not need the ring wire, as there is one in the splitter.

FYI BT MAX is adaptive, and you are not stuck with one speed. It all depends on your ability to stay synced with the network at a certain speed. Once you stay synced at the higher speed, your IP Profile will follow accordingly in 3 days.

I had a look at this a month or so ago and as far as I could tell there was no ring wire already :(

I rewired the electrics and phones in my house and removed the ring wire also. Very worthwhile.

Another thing, if you have Sky Digital/+/HD etc and they plumbed u in using a 2 way adapter and the Sky phone lined hardwired into the adapter, take the wire off the adapter.

When u have the wire free, goto ur master socket (I assume the wire is long enough, if not, buy a longer wire) and take the face plate off, then take the middle section out, here u will see the MASTER wire coming into the house then, drill a small hole in the casing and feed the Sky wire through, then put the middle section back on making sure the Sky wire comes through the adjoining hole, then u must connect the two Sky wires to numbers 2 and 5 (there is a tool u can use to connect it or u can use a screwdriver (or similar) if your careful.

Then reapply the faceplate and hey presto, u removed the 2 way adapter thing and can use a 3-4-5 etc as the Sky isnt hardwired into an adapter, its hardwired direct into the Master phone socket!

(This can also help ADSL speeds and sync'ing as theres less noise etc)
