Hello All, The final time I was in the DOCTOR (Puerto Plata) was in 1998. At the time I was an entire beginner in the world of latin party, but fell in deep love with the merengue. Ever since then, I've become obsessed about latin dance (salsa particularly), have studied it thoroughly, and have been quite mixed up in dance group in Bay Area. Today I'm considering because I'm enamored with bachata time for the DOCTOR, mainly! Having said that, I need to prepare a stay, but don't really know just how I will get it done so I'm fairly variable), (I'll be going alone. I've the next questions: (1) Is salsa at all common in the DOCTOR? I've heard it's getting quite warm, however I've also heard that it's not necessarily taken hold. (2) Am I going to discover any bachata at the more resort-oriented cities, or is danced mainly in the large cities? (3) Do normal (i.e. dance/hip-hop/house) groups perform any bachata/merengue/salsa throughout the night? (4) Are small, hip Dominicans actually in to bachata, or am I going to be disappointed by the 'picture' down there? (5) Where can you suggest I get? Obviously, if I'm likely to maintain the DOCTOR for two months I'll need more to achieve that only party, and I'd prefer to see at the very least two areas (I was considering Punta Cana and Santo Domingo/Juan Dolio )... Thx significantly! Z.
