Default Chion-in: the final of the Kyoto visit!
OK men, listed here is the last measure of Kyoto concentrating round the last temple we visited, Chion-in. Every thing about that temple is BIG. The main gatehouse is BIG, the main temple making is BIG, the staircase to the temple is BIG, the reasons are BIG...I think you will get the picture... This is a chance of the gatehouse. Yes, these bugs about the step are people. Finished seems like some large ugly vessel on huge posts. Beyond the gatehouse may be the principal step prior to the temple grounds. Here is a shot from above looking down towards the gatehouse. And a go of the main temple building. Massive! The pines, mainly Japanese red maple, were beautiful. Ultimately, a random shot in the Arashiyama region across town. These little men are called jizo. They're representations of 1 of the Bodhisattva in Asia. That divinity is called a guardian of kiddies, especially those individuals who have handed down or were preserved from great danger such as for instance a collision or illness. In Japan these figures are created to appear lovely and more child-like as seen here. That little man by the end is simply too adorable! Well, that's that. I really hope you liked the visit. I know I'll be making the trip straight back to Kyoto one-day.
